Being a life-long baseball fan, I find this World Series to be one of the most exciting ones in history. The best comparison I can make is to the 1960 series between the Yankees and Pittsburg Pirates*. That particular series was punctuated by Bill Mazeroski's series-winning walk-off HR in the seventh game. Last night's 13-12 game, won by the Astros, is lessened only by it not being the final, series-clinching game. Otherwise, it goes down as one of the greatest World Series games ever played...if not the greatest. I don't know how it can be topped in the remainder of the series, no matter who ends up winning it all.

*With a tip of the cap, also, to the 1975 Series between the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox.

I thought that the Dodgers had it in the bag after the first inning last night. I kept wondering why the Astros left that picture in all of the first and didn't pull him right away. I finally turned it off while the Dodgers were still up three nothing and watched a little of the Lions and Steelers game before going to bed.

Like you, I thought it was over at 3-0, then 4-0, with Kershaw pitching. He is usually money in the bank. Watching that game was like riding a roller-coaster of thoughts & emotions...one could never really feel safe in trying to figure out who was going to win. I finally went to bed at about 12-45AM, right after the winning run scored. I was drained.

I question whether Verlander can shut down the Dodgers tomorrow, and question the same about any pitcher for L.A. against the bats of the Astros.

It should be a good game tomorrow but it will be at the Dodgers home now, so the Astros will have to work harder to win.

Last night's game was vital to the Astros. With Verlander pitching, they have their best chance of winning the series by closing out the Dodgers tomorrow. If not, the seventh game will be another slugfest and a toss of the dice as to who might win...IMO, of course.

It sounds reasonable to me as well.

Ditto for me. I am rooting for the Astros against those dastardly Dodgers.

Salty, careful you don't sound too much like BB with those kind of adjectives..."dastardly."

The language has truly gone into the gutter around here. It is almost to much for my sensitive ears to handle.

I suspect if BadBobby's or PoppaGringo's language is the worst you read "around here"...your "sensitive ears (eyes?)" will be just fine.

As you know, though quick with their verbal pot-shots, they are true gentlemen.

GO ASTROS

That is from where it was plagiarized.

Yes, being limited as Squids are in their verbal/literary sk**ls, it seems that whenever BB writes a post directed at one or both of us, it consists simply of a subject and predicate with "dastardly" thrown in there somewhere.

Yes, I have also noticed that. I hope he doesn't see this as he will possibly go bonkers trying to ascertain what a subject and a predicate is.

Of that, I have no doubt.
