Where in title 26 can I find if labor is taxable? I have a friend that hasn't participated in the income tax since 1970 because he says he isn't liable and the IRS has agreed with him. I have several more friends that have stopped paying income taxes and have encountered several problems with the IRS. Some have gone to jail but none have been jailed for non-payment of taxes. It does seem somewhat strange that everyone pays hidden taxes on everything they purchase that exceeds more than 35% of their income and don't seem to mind and then they complain about the income tax!

If your taxable income is less than $10,000, you need not file.. You may want to if you are made elagable for some kind of supplement... Most working people do not pay a great deal of income tax, taxs for FICA, personal property and the hidden taxs you speak of amount to more..It used to possible to contact the IRS without giving you ID and get information right from the horses mouth...

Yes, if people looked at their hand and saw the amount going to uncle SAM they would have a snit.... Not a bad idea, most complain about taxes, but if they wrote it out with a ck each month, maybe some would take action... You know I am more or less liberal, but I h**e tax too....

You say you are more or less a liberal, can you explain why liberals think that corporations actually pay taxes when in actuality they only collect those taxes from their consumers. Why is it that they don't understand that taxes and fees are just another cost of doing business and MUST be passed onto the consumer?

I do not know anyone (have not asked all those I know), who does not realize that corporations regard all taxes as a cost of doing business and pass it on to consumers... For that matter, this is thout in Biz 101. Group have struggled for years to find a way to collect taxes from corps with out the pass through to the customer... Yet they find a way for "corps are people too" so more money can go to politicians..

Every democrat meeting I've attended the majority always want the government to tax corporations at a higher rate than they are currently being taxed. There is absolutely no way to tax a corporation that will not end up being paid by the consumer!! If you understand the tax code you would know that ever since it was written a corporation has always been a person (in the code) and that hasn’t changed since the inception of the income tax.

that part is correct, and I would like to see a way to have corporations pay a tax without the pass along to the customer. And you are right, I see and have never heard of a way to do that..

Why do you want corporations to pay more taxes instead of MAKING GOVERNMENT SPEND MUCH MUCH LESS! The government wastes most of what they get anyway. The defense department can't account for more than 8.5 trillion since 1996 so why give our government more money?

I was only addressing one item with what I wrote.. I stand by what I said.... But of course, I along with every single person that I have heard express and opinion, wants the government to spend less money... One of the problems, is no one will agree on what and where to cut. I see is as evry single program, has huge amounts of money going to groups that have nothing to do with accomplishing the actual goal of the given program. To the bureaucracy or bloated payments to those who do the job. Manufacturers or contractors... IE, Govt waste...
