The religious belief in Monotheism consists primarily of faithful Jews, Christians and Muslims. The God in each religion and within the religions are often interpreted and described differently. The goal of this treatise is to recommend a characterization of this One God that that Monotheist could place their faith in, which I hope you will find is factual and t***hful.

The God we should place our faith in is a Devine Power of goodness, enlightenment and morality. God is not an idol, icon, effigy or being. You may call this Power Hashem, Jesus, Allah or any other name of respect. This sacred Power, was metaphorically revealed by Moses in the Bible. The attributes of this Power can somewhat be compared the power of electricity.

Electricity is invisible. So is this Power. - Electricity is essential for a better life. So is this Power. - Electricity is available to every human being, if they choose to use this power, as it is with this Power. - To acquire the benefits of electricity, you must switch it on. If you chose to get the benefits of this Power, you must also choose to turn it on.

The Bible tells us that the Chosen Ones are those who abide by the Commandments. It is not God’s choice. It is the choice of the faithful. A choice that is measured by actions, not just beliefs.

The Power, normally called God, resides in the imagination of every human being. Before you respond to this belief, bear in mind that love, affection, music, art, poetry, happiness, airplanes, computers, iPhones and millions of other toys originated in someone’s imagination.

According to Albert Einstein "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

For a religion or a belief to be t***hful, it must take a path of reason and be supported by the facts. It is a fact that the findings and writings by the Biblical and Quran scribes came from their or other’s Imagination. When you characterize and recognize that the God we should place our faith in is a Divine Power, then it would be impossible to have a conversation with this Power, unless the Power came from the imagination of another human being.

Critics will say there may be t***h in this precept, but it creates as many gods as there are people. Not so. The Laws of Nature gave us Free Will. We choose our path of life, even under duress. But that means that we interpret God’s Power in a myriad of ways. Thank God, we can.

This Power is not infallible. Abraham changed God’s instruction in the Binding of Isaac. Our blunders and mistakes are often the way God teaches us.

Throughout history, many of the faithful from all religions have carried out dreadful crimes in the name of their religion. Although there are many contradictions and interpretations in the Bible and Quran, a terrible act by a monotheist or a pagan is Godless.

Abraham came to this conclusion because each of us is a single human being that cannot be replicated. No one before, now or after us is the same person. The message Abraham and the Biblical scribes believed that you first must have faith in yourself before you have faith in others. And, if you subscribe to the Commandments, you must place yourself 1st in the panoply of gods. Our Golden Rules are measured by this precept.

For those who believe that the Creator of the Universe and the Laws of Nature is the God that deserves our faith, it is also in our Imagination. The t***h is that no one really knows the entities or deities that created the Universe. This Creator should be described as The Great Landscape Architect of the Universe.

What mankind can do and has done is to create a higher power that will help us live a better and ethical life. So far, mankind’s imagination has given us everything we possess and use except for the fauna, the flora and the elements of the Universe, which was placed here by the Great Landscape Architect of the Universe. One of the prime tasks of mankind is to reveal the Laws of Nature, which we have been doing since our inception with some measure of success.

-------------

Throughout history all religious and pagan civilizations were deeply concerned with the afterlife. The consensus was and is that the departed eventually go to Heaven or Hell. The location of Heaven was someplace above the Earth and Hell was someplace below the surface of the Earth. The goal of the faithful and unfaithful was and is to have everlasting life. I believe the Monotheistic religions should adopt a theology regarding the afterlife that can t***hfully subscribe to a path of reason and can be factually proven.

Heaven and Hell are concoctions that emanates from our imagination. Let us agree for the moment that these entities are located here on Earth or where ever there are human beings.

The souls of the departed who have touched and influenced the living, are in Heaven. Those who have passed away that are not in the memory or imagination of the living, are in Hell.

It is a fact that during our lifetime, our parents, relatives, friends, teachers, and notable individuals in every walk of life that passed away recently or thousands of years ago, touched and influenced us in some manner.

Imagine our lives without the influence and inspiration of Moses, Socrates, Jesus, Tomas Aquinas, Mohammed, Copernicus, Newton, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mozart, Shakespeare, Darwin, Edison, Einstein, etc. etc. etc. Their legacy is and has been a fountain of knowledge and guidance that has enriched our lives immeasurably. Everlasting life of our souls are lodged in the imagination of posterity.

I encourage the readers of this treatise to become its critics and to contact me with their views at jerry.zerg@gmail.com. Your response is welcome.
