Sorry to see such an ill informed post. Trying to say that Obamacare and Romneycare are closely related is like claiming that a sea gull and a walrus are alike because they both live in the ocean, eat fish and have similar looking wings or flippers on their sides.

If you want to read a good discussion of the comparison of Obamacare vs. Romneycare, read:

Do not worry about it. The Raw Story source he uses is just another bunch of ELWNJ'S. That is all he ever uses so there is no credibility in anything he posts.

The change to the ACA that would make it better is to change it to a single payer system like Medicare.

Agreed, and if the conservatives would have acknowledged that 4 years ago, things would much better.
The "public option" should have approved over the stupid objections of the insurance industry.

What single payer advocates are missing is that competition is very effective when it comes to innovation of new technologies increasing the quality of any product being provided as well as almost always increasing productivity.

The question is what is the objective here is it to reduce the cost associated with health care ? If that's the case then we needed to stop catering to ambulance chasers and do some real tort reform. Was it to insure the uninsured ? That was already do able through Medicare, Medicaid and other state run programs.

Serious real question here for any of you ACA advocates.

I have to assume that the primary goal was to insure the uninsured correct?

The original stated objective that they said they needed to make the system viable was 7 million enrolled by April correct? There are what 30 million or so uninsured, how or when did they propose attracting or signing up the other 23 million?

Or am I missing something here?

I did not see that in the article you linked. It suggests 1.5 million could lose their coverage, and from what has been published so far, up to 20 million will lose their coverage under the ACA. I would want to see how much the Republican's plan costs the individual and also how much it relies on subsidies before making any statement as to if it is better or worse.

You risk your credibility by jumping to conclusions and even if you were right, your message will be rejected because of this.

Well I see that neither Bo or Kevyn wish to address my question to them.

I doubt very much the ACA was ever really intended to actually insure the 30 million uninsured. There simply has to be more to this than what we have been allowed to see so far.

We have 308 million citizens 30 million uninsured is less than 10% of the population. They call 7 million a success but that only equates to a little over 23% of the uninsured being insured and just a little over 2% of the total population. We just turned a 6th of our economy upside down for 2% of our total number of citizens.

Will some ACA advocate please tell me what the true purpose of implementing such a program was really all about.

Obama said 'Obama Care will provide immediate access to 30 million Americans who would otherwise not have it'. Where are those 30 million? Shouldn't they all be signed up by now? Shouldn't they have beaten down the doors for their "free" health care? Where are they, in your humble opinion?

Not likely, as the ACA has adversely effected, to a major degree, the working of the MA Healthcare System.
