Isaiah chapter 29

Verse 1 - 8

In Isaiah 1:11 God asks, “to what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to me”? The religious leaders had the children of Jacob kill sheep and goats, but some would kill their own children in idol worship. God is more concerned with child murder than whether or not you eat shrimp. Assyria would take the northern ten tribes and the cities surrounding Jerusalem. When they surrounded Jerusalem, Hezekiah prayed for God’s help and God sent an angel that killed the Assyrian army of 185,000 troops in one night.

Verse 9 - 12

The problem is people are teaching, judging, and criticizing before they understand. If we really understood that God is in control and we should follow Jesus then we wouldn’t do any of these things.

Verse 13

Jesus quotes this scripture in Matthew 15:8 & 9 and Mark 7:6 & 7. However He adds four words, “In vain they worship”. Worship without obedience is a waste of time. Singing in the choir will not excuse murder.

Verse 14 - 17

Global warming, climate change, social justice, and political correctness will one day be exposed as the leftist nonsense that it is. God can read your mind. There will be no secrets. God has every right to tell us how to live the life He gave us.

Verse 18 & 19

One day we will realize that life for everyone would be better if we followed instead of policing the bible. Wisdom is like turning on a light. You see things you didn’t see before.

Verse 20 & 21

One day we will realize the people dumber than satan are his followers. When you police the bible, you are looking for sin in others. The only sin you should worry about is your own. We live in an age where if anyone stands up for God’s word, his past will be researched to find something he did 50 years ago that they can use to justify them not listening to God now. We are all sinners.

Verse 22 - 24

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but God’s word will never pass away. One day the bible will be taught by them that understand.
