He's a retired English teacher. He's special. Have you noticed how many grammatical errors this "English teacher" makes? I have the utmost sympathy for anyone who ever had to take a class taught by this self righteous, bigoted fool.

I'm interested, can you provide an actual link or are we supposed to just go through every article until we find it. Oh, and I refuse to watch the video entitled "Hillary sex scandal"... I'm a man and therefore can say that it has to be false. No man would willingly have sex with her!" Buahahahahah!

I'm sorry, couldn't help myself (just in case you were mentioning what I said and not agreeing with me!)

The system is corrupt and yes, follow the money. Very true. I would just take exception to capitalism being dead. Just ask the top 1%. I think it is working quite well for them. Regulated capitalism is on its death bed however.
Just to clarify, Eisenhower's statement was actually the "military industrial complex" but your paraphrase certainly fits today, as does his original.

Do you think the Market is truly competitive now? You call this Capitalism? It is State Capitalism. Obama and the Hollywood moguls are also the 1%. But how do they get to be the 1%? True they work their butts off. I know some of them and I can tell you they work hard for what they get. Problem is they stifle competition and use government to keep them ensconced. We are all being manipulated by both sides of the political spectrum. Don't buy into the Democrat lies anymore than you fall for Republican lies. They are all cons. Hobbes had it right I fear. Remember the pigs in Animal Farm I see no hope in politics anymore but thank you for your thoughtful post. JPBIII

I do not see politics of either side as deceptive or self-serving in intent--sincere for the most part...perhaps too sincere and thus too willing to 'manipulate' for their ideas...and the more extreme the political viewpoint the more willing to 'manipulate.'

The problem as I see it is economic development toward bignesses and complexities without historical parallel and without precedent for coping with that creates uncertainty what should or can be done and doubt about the future of freedom and self-government with big economics and big government overshadowing small individuals and making them in effect serfs.

I do not see the matter as the end of individualism at all, only a crisis situation and circumstances of this time for my children's generation to muddle through as previous crises have been muddled through. So long as bignesses balance out, individualism and creativity will survive. We can see only where we are and all the wrongs and also positives we take for granted and somehow don't think beyond past and present to the future we cannot quite imagine. In fact, we seem to forget it took 700 years for freedom and self-government to reach this point and same centuries for economic development to reach this point. So do we lose faith and trust at this point? We are not animals nor our politicians pigs. I suspect we are more like hobbits than wizzards or leaders.

Conservativeteaparty liars rant and rage about President Obama taking a vacation.

A little fact checking reveals that shrub bush took more days, ronnie raygun took many more days, and bush the elder spent more time on vacation than any president in history.

Strange that conservatives were so quiet about the time off for those presdients.

Then again, not so strange for r****ts and bigots who are always looking for something to bash Obama about

The issue here is cost to the taxpayers for those vacations. Reagan had his ranch in CA, Bush 2 had his ranch in TX, and Bush 1 had Kennebunkport, ME. The Pres goes to Hawaii and his wife decides to stay behind at a cost of over $500,000 to the taxpayer.
