In watching the disaster that is Puerto Rico and given they are a US Territory and given that they have ZERO representatives in congress at what point do we consider them for Statehood? Just asking...

Might as well give them statehood. They already get all the welfare and food stamps and every other freebie that we have. Their government charges their people taxes and they do not put a dime into our tax system and their officials blow all that money and bankrupt the country. Guam does the same things.
Give them statehood and all the people that work then have to pay federal taxes to our country and we at least get something back for our money.

THEY have to request consideration. They have, thus far declined. Maybe they will now request to be a state next year, the first steps are theirs.

They will be eligible for FEMA but they have no representation or anyone to stand up and speak for them. Plus FEMA is broke so who gets the funding first--Texas and Florida--or PR which is devistated but isn't even a state?

If their government had not been so greedy and saved their money they would have plenty to help their own people. i know some Puerto Ricans and they say it is one of the dirtiest most corrupt places that you would ever want to go to. I have also been to Guam several times and theyare referred to as the island of thieves.
And have another Welfare State like Chicago, and Hawaii, What the hell is the matter with you half wits anyway. Thats only one of the reasons those failed countries want Statehood, Welfare Welfare And Welfare. Why do you i***ts want to make the poorest countries in the World Welfare States.Because thr is good money in corruption and that's all Welfare is, is corruption.Look at Chicago and Illinois, two of the biggest welfare States in the country and also the crookedest.Find me a State as crooked as these two. ? All you have to be is a Sanctuary City or State and your well on your way.

Don't you mean Illinois and California, Because Chicago is in Illinois. On the other hand Puerto Rico and Guam are already welfare hogs. Take Guam for instance. Theymake laws that mirror our laws and then when our government breaks one of the laws then they force us to pay them millions of dollars. It is one of the ways that they s**m the USA. Been there and seen what they do. You would be sick if you really understood how much money our government gives away to these countries.
There you go, muddling the conversation with FACTS.

Glad you straightened that out for me, Thanks.

US must NOT give Puerto Rico statehood. They must remain as they are. Despite of our own devastations from hurricanes, US must help Puerto Rico recover to maintain their livelihood. We also need to help Mexico being our neighbor. We are a Christian nation, and the Lord said, "love thy neighbor".

You need to learn a bit about how Puerto Rico has been hammered by capitalist infrastructure spending that has drained their economy dry. So where are those who have benefited from vastly over priced utilities, why aren't they rebuilding the infrastructure that they reap the financial rewards from? Those who have invested want the government to rebuild the infrastructure so that they can keep collecting on their original investment. Their investment is gone, trashed, non existent if they don't rebuild.
The people of Puerto Rico are US citizens, without the benefits apparently. They do pay taxes.
