Dysfunctional post office now thinks it can handle banking, thats right, the same postal service that lost 6 BILLION !!!! in 2013.
They didn't lose that money, they know exactly where it when. It went to UPS, FEDEX etc. I keep a box that costs $42 a year. I keep suggesting that they start charging for home delivery. I mean, it costs them way more to do that than it does to stick my mail in a box 10 feet from where it's sorted.
As to banking, they'd just be going back to " the good old days", when most of your stuff was done at the post office, which was usually at the store, or if your town was bigger, at the bank anyway.

You say; "charge for home delivery" , I'm getting the sense you're of the mind that the USPO still has a place, this day and age?
I think they already charge for it via the stamp, which I believe is forty-nine cents now..... Sure, I pay for the internet but, I'd rather "point and click" a letter and such, save a tree as I heard it. And there's good competition for package deliveries, until we can teleport them ofcourse.
As to banking, not so long ago, I was in Vermont and some small town still had that set up, I was blown away, like a time warp, it was pretty cool to see.
Also in respect to banking, I can think just off the top of my head, atleast four others here, that are far more qualified than I, to speak to that.
Where is the punchline cuz I know this has to be a joke!
Of course, no way anyone will let go of any power in this country, but there are so many parts of our government that could be run more efficiently by privatization. We could privatize most and toss out almost all of what was left.
