First off before the libs start insulting me I realize unlike the current commander and chief I am not qualified. Here are some of the platforms I would run on.

LEGISLATORS

1. Term limits - 8years for Senators, six years for
Representatives

2. Legislators do not get a pension they would have 401k's

3. All contributions to Washington Politicians to be listed
for public viewing

4. Both houses of congress to be in Washington 6 months
unless a special session is called. ( Work from home in
your state. CEO's do it all the time

5. Legislators pay for own t***sportation unless on specific
government business.

Legislation

1. Repeal Obama care

2. Implement a Flat Tax

3. Dissolve Department of Education

4. Pass a balanced budget amendment

5. Any extended military conflict must be Declared War buy
Congress, so the politicians can't wiggle out of there
commitment when the going gets tuff.

6. No more nation building by the military. All military
conflicts to be solved by massive destruction of enemy.
You know like WWII.

7. Send power back to the states. States should not send
money to Washington then have said monies sent back
to them by Washington with strings attached. If states
have more power then the liberal vs. conservative
argument is greatly diminished because if your liberal
move to a more liberal state and vice versa for
conservatives.

8. Dissolve current Snap Program. Food vouchers to be
used at State run food banks only, containing only
healthy products. If you are gonna be on the tax-payers
dole you will eat healthy food.

9. Welfare reform - (Use the Clinton model)

Immigration

1. Repeal Section 1of the fourteenth amendment.

2. I*****l i*******ts with a felonious record must be
sent home.

3. People here illegally have a certain grace period to apply
for a work visa. After that grace period if they are
detained for any reason they will be sent home.

4. E - verify strictly used and enforced. Employers who
willingly hire i*****l a***ns to be fined heavily. Repeat
offenders could face jail time.

5. No amnesty. You can apply for a work visa for you and
family but if you want to become a citizen you must
leave and get in line. No reward for illegal actions.

6. Most importantly, close the border. Tell Mexico if they
don't help close the border no more foreign aid. There
army will be on the border the next day. China did it
without one bulldozer.

That's just some ideas. gonna take a nap. Being president is hard work.

I agree with your proposal about legislators.

On legislation:
l, 2, and 3. No way. You are way off base.
4. Worthy of discussion.
5 and 6. I agree.
7. has merit. Needs discussion and refinement.
8 and 9. I agree.

On immigration. Makes as much sense as most of the "stuff" I've read.

This proves that you can agree with the opposition on a lot of things.

Most of what you said sounds better than what's happening today and with some tweaking could work. One item probably won't work - the balanced budget amendment. If passed it would be the most violated piece of legislation in American history, the one that inspired the most creative ways of side-stepping and in so doing would cheapen the rest of the Constitution and amendments.

I agree with everything you said here. specially I like the Balanced Budget Amendment.
It looks like you have the representatives and Congres folks backwards in "1. Term limits - 8years for Senators, six years for Representatives." The Constitution sets the term of office for a Senator at 6 years. But I really like the idea.
At the present time, however individual States limit the terms of office (if at all) for these people.
Thank you very much for putting this entire forum on the Plaza.

There is nothing wrong with the 14th amendment. What you have to do it find out what it really means. Most people never take the time to read and UNDERSTAND our Constitution, so they go off half cocked and never really understand just what our government did to them. The SCOTUS is wrong and is making things up to fit what they want done.

"Professor Raoul Berger proves in his book, Government by Judiciary: The T***sformation of the Fourteenth Amendment, that the purpose of the 14th Amendment was to extend citizenship to freed s***es and protect them from southern Black Codes which denied them basic rights of citizenship.

Professor Berger also shows (Ch. 11) that “due process” is a term with a “precise technical import” going back to the Magna Charta. It means that a person’s life, liberty or property can’t be taken away from him except by the judgment of his peers pursuant to a fair trial!

Professor Berger stresses that “due process of law” refers only to trials - to judicial proceedings in courts of justice. It does not involve judicial power to override State Statutes!"

Understand this and you will no longer have a problem with the 14th amendment, just the SCOTUS. If we made them live up to their oath and do what is RIGHT, they would not be coming up with judgements like this. This is what happens when you put activist judges on that bench..........

Do you REALLY think that the SC judges do not understand EXACTLY what they are doing when they come up with stuff like this. They know exactly what "due process of law" is and what it means. THEY WERE LAWYERS !! They just choose to ignore that. That means it is past time to impeach a few of them and put someone on there that will do the job they were put there to do and not what Obama or someone else wants. That also means that it is time we LEARN what this Constitution really means...

http://publiushuldah.wordpress.com/category/14th-amendment/

This site will give you a very good start in learning exactly what our Constitution means and why it is written the way it is. There is a lot of reading here, but it is worth it........
I h**e to say this, but you also need to read and understand the Federalist Papers. That will take some doing as they are quite long. At least learn how to search for topics you need to read up on.

I like your ideas. It's ashame this hasn't or can't happen in this country. You should be the president for sure. Have you thought about running?
If I were president, first of all, Barack Obama wouldn't be any part of the white house or government. He'd be deported back to Kenya to serve with his Arab father and brother who are violent, murderous, radicals and stop supporting their movement of k*****g Christians in Kenya with U.S. money.
Secondly. Foreigners would be limited and the only foreigners allowed would be healthy, wealthy and speak English. We already have moochers galore.
Thirdly. Islamics would not be allowed at all.
Fourth. Any person(s) bombing, drugging, child molesting, murdering, kid napping, human trafficking, abusing humans or animals, would be shot on the spot.
Fifth. If in war, would not rebuild any structure demolished by our country.
Sixth. War is war, bomb first, ask questions later. Can't tippy toe around obstacles, human or other. Get rid of the enemy.
Seventh. Set flat taxes, equal for every person in this country.
Eighth. Congress, and all governmental representatives be on set salary governed by the taxpayers...no under the table handouts. No paid vacations or lavish gifts.
Ninth. Any person running for p**********l office be investigated to the fullest.
The president would have a set allowance and set amount of days for
vacations. No using the taxpayers monies to support their lavish
greeds.
Tenth. When the president has served his term, he will not be given a salary for the rest of his life. He's on his own.
Eleventh. The most important of all....bring back prayer in schools and assemblies. Bring GOD back and give our country back to the people. Demand the people in this country show respect to one another, regardless what color.

This is the most revealing post I've ever read. Please, everyone needs to read every word of this link. We the People are selling ourselves out if we do not understand what the Balanced Budget Amendments ALL do to us.

I also pretty much agree with you except I think 1,2 and 3 are spot on. Once they become anchored they simply grow too powerful and (just my opinion) therefore corrupt.
