To the forum: I was hoping that ya'll would see that the accounting of the USA's National Debt is parallel to Enron. I was hoping that U world see that there is a $90 trillion unfunded liability that is not included in the books but off line just like Enron. Where in havens name is this money going to come from when it is necessary to pay it?

No person addressed it when it is right there. I suppose none of U understood, or didn't read it. Are all of you the uninform v**ers that we holler so much about. It must be so. Tell me that I am off base; that I don't understand these things. Tell me that the USA is not another ENRON!!!! Just this one time tell me that I am crazy.

And the percentage is going higher and higher. Where will it ever stop?

I refer you to google, NATION DEBT OF THE UNITED STATES. You may be shocked out of your underwire when U read it. Its on Wikipedia.

I don’t put much credence in Wikipedia but you weren’t far off (By the way, all this data is based on 2013 dollars).

Based on CBO data, mandatory spending (SS, Medicare, and Medicaid) made up almost 59 percent of the federal budget, totaling $2.03 trillion in 2013.

And although I’m conservative and would like to agree with your assertion that the entitlement spending “…percentage is going higher and higher…”, it has actually remained fairly constant while Obama's been in office and has in fact gone down 0.7 percent since he started.

However, to put things in perspective, Bush averaged $1.54 trillion per year in his eight years in office while Obama has raised that average over 36 percent, averaging $2.10 trillion in his five years.

And the other 45% goes to the DoD!. No wait, it's 65%. I guess that's why we always have a deficit
budget.

Actually, Bush averaged 21.4 percent to the DoD and Obama has averaged 28.4 percent. And I though Bush was the war monger?

Does is matter that it was so and so under what administration? No!! What matters is how it will, and is effecting the country in the short term, as well as the long term. There is a debt outstanding that is so large it can't be reconciled. Yes, or no? Yes, I am fearful.

Apparently you missed my question which was meant sarcastically.

Yes, we have a MAJOR debt problem and it keeps getting worse every day with no end in sight as long as Mr Obama is in office and the Republican pussies remain in the House (You did notice that Mr Obama has a blank check through 2015?).

But is it going to change? I highly doubt and to be honest, I’m to the point where I really don’t care. We’re past the point of no return. I don’t mean to get all “religious” on you but I KNOW God is in charge and I am His child so I don’t have a worry in the world. I may experience tough times but I KNOW my destiny is assured. The current state of the world is only temporal and I may be in it but I am not of it.

Just my two cents worth. In the mean time, everybody on this website can keep those dervishes whirling.

Well you picked another area where I was in to see what was going on.

I was with the 25th US Amy division from 60 to 62.

This was before any official US troops were in Vietnam.

The division training mission was to be about gorilla warfare.

Being in an office clerk I had only a 2 day training session.

The idea was to send small groups in to the jungle to seek out & engage the enemy.

But the fighting style of the US isn't about gorilla warfare.

Sending a squad of armed men in to the jungle to live off of what they could carry or find to eat.

This plan was scraped & there was the big military buildup.

So the best military machine was bested by an under equipped gorilla force.

And Pres. Bush spent that money fighting against our enemies--barackhussein has spent most of it GIVING it to our enemies ! We had won the war in Iraq--now it's lost ! Things are worse there today than 5 years ago. And they're a HELL of a lot worse HERE !
