Unfortunate, and very disappointing. I held the hope that presenting a controversial topic without bias might yield open discussion

H**e seems the dollar here in discussions. Few commented. I made a special effort not to lean either way, a mistake if I wanted posters. This site is stained with bias and deep with h**e. No reasonable discussion is possible. I may be wrong, yet thus far that is not my experience.

Don't count me out on the reasonable discussions.

I will speak to you on any subject and remain civil.

So let's talk.

Are you referring to the post on civil war you just entered? You are very quick to take offense since very few had the opportunity to read the post. Of those who read it not too many can object; those who have military and combat experience know that a soldier does what he is ordered to do and leaves the deeper meanings for those who are interested in such speculations. The military is no different than civil life, the family unit comes first, friends and neighbors second, the town and state next and the nation last in allegiance and loyalty.

It has been this way since the days of the cave man and it is the way humans are structured to function, family, clan and tribe.

You appear to be new to OPP, so if I may, having been around for some time offer you my view. If you are a nonconformational poster or provide rationale for your opinions with references, you will not get many participants. It is just the way OPP has evolved. When I first joined,
people often participated in exchanges giving educated and thought out inputs. But, as time wore on, the majority of comments have evolved to one liners and they are ordinarily insults. I feel your pain, wanting conversations or exchanges at an adult level. My recommendation,
stay around and do not fall into the trap of h**e. Provide your threads and points of view, if no one responds then do not concern yourself,
you at least had a means of expressing yourself. If you get some to exchange ideas or views then you will have accomplished your goal. Best of luck.

You sure do come to conclusions quickly.

You might take a stab at getting to know what you're talking about before you blather on.

I need honest guys like you to reign me in. I do not think much, just say what's on my mind. My family has eventually come to tolerate my, um, enthusiasm. "That's just Andy being Andy." It hurts. And got this since I was around eight. Nothing I said mattered; I was just being obstinate.

Just me and the cat, and I do have other things to do besides try to find gems here amid the slime. Hope all is well with you also.

Life is good, I have no complaints. I too am less active on OPP. But, I try to read many of the posts from friends, like you.
