If ignorance is bliss, there should be a lot of happy people in this country.

Thought for the day:

If ignorance is bliss, there should be a lot of happy people in this country.

America's real history and the real t***h no longer matter much.
It's an automatic, knee-jerk reaction to noisy bearers of the worn-out old race card that now has many people including Governors and other powerful politicians hopping to wh**ever demands come down the pike.
We've bowed to political correctness, subjugated ourselves to the whimsical demands of intolerant radical l*****ts who'd like to rewrite history to suit the narratives they wish to project. Namely, these:

1 Our forefathers are bad.
2 This evil country was founded by bigots.
3 Black people have a lot to be angry about in America.
4: This is an unjust place where we're extremely divided
along racial and economic lines.
Their solutions:

Tear down statues that have been in place for more than a century... Don't study any of the related history. Use this as a point of division to vilify half the country and characterize them as the oppressors while destroying vestiges of American history, one by one.
Divide the country! Place everyone into two groups: The oppressors and the oppressed.
Make sure young people think our leadership is comprised of bigoted, self-serving, greedy and arrogant people who have no compassion for minorities or the poor. Drive that point home over and over and over in classrooms and through a like-minded Left-leaning media and raise it to a level sufficient to drown out the voices of reason.
Don't let the "oppressors" speak on college campuses.
Call any and all Conservative speeches "verbal violence" to then justify violence of the Left's own making.
Disrespect symbols of our democracy, especially the f**g.
Create discord and havoc wherever possible and make sure there's international media coverage. Chide, deride and divide us, and work very hard to bring The United States of America --- the biggest purveyor of Free Enterprise and Capitalism --- to its knees before the world stage. Go for it's throat! "K**l this old mammoth. Slaughter it. It's a monster that stole land from the natives and created wealth on the backs of s***es. Murder it. Stomp it into the ground. Revolution is justified. Power to the people."

Wait a minute... is this America or Cuba circa 1958? Or the USSR just before the revolution? Or Iran's radical Imams and their followers with torches setting fire to the palace of the Shah? Or some South American banana republic about to chop up their leaders with machetes? What's going on here?
America has changed quite a lot since WW2. We were hard-working, independent minded and uniformly patriotic people. The Democrats and Republicans liked each other and shared most values. America was the shining city on a hill for the rest of the world. Capitalism, support for industry and free enterprise built the greatest, most powerful nation in the world but...
Think about it. Something happened over time.

We have dramatically, fundamentally changed as a country. We very nearly nominated an avowed Socialist on the Democratic Party ticket last year! And you still any small doubt we could be close to the edge? The end of America as we once knew it?

What's happening in the news today fits nicely into the tenets of "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky, the revolution-preaching C*******t who so greatly inspired one of our former Presidents as a college student. We now have a whole generation of young people like twigs bent that direction due to an educational system totally unbalanced to the hard left.
Pointing out Robert E. Lee was against s***ery, spent his remaining life and fortune after the Civil War helping Black people is futile; those who know about it are powerless to stop the unfair characterization of the man as an oppressive bigot, and those who need to know about it won't listen because they don't want to hear the t***h.

A Facebook member named Ben Sharp noted the following:
"Many of the statues of Robert E. Lee across the South were erected with money raised by former s***es. After the war, Robert E. Lee and his wife established a home school in their own house to teach former s***es to read and write. This was still illegal in almost every former Confederate state, so the couple caught a lot of heck over it. In addition, they sponsored passage back to Liberia (Africa) for former s***es who had not been in bondage long, and wanted to return there. As a result of these actions, he and his wife died broke. Know the history you are destroying."
Sorry, Ben. As I mentioned earlier, the t***h no longer matters.

And a Marxist revolution is well underway.
What can we do about it as concerned, patriotic Americans who love this country? Must we sit back and watch her die the death of a thousand cuts, day after day, stabbed repeatedly 24/7 on CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC... being attacked by a purposeful, slanted and vociferous media? Vilified as a "Bigoted Institution" on college campuses all day, every day? Demeaned on Public Radio around the clock? Are the L*****ts going to get their way and take America as we know it to its knees?

I don't think so.
But we must determine ourselves to stay the course, to reject their L*****t agenda, to calmly and respectfully reply with the t***h whenever possible and, most importantly, to activate our real power from every Conservative household in America and simply outv**e them again when the opportunity comes.
We do that, and America will survive and, who knows?

It might even be great again.

A sensible post. Thank you! Unfortunately, I think the only solution will be a civil war. Extermination of these rabble rousing l*****ts. You cant reason with people who are too brain dead to realize reality. They are bringing the war. Time to bring it to a close, and let America win. But it wont happen until enough of us get fed up.

1 Our forefathers are bad. 2 This evil country was founded by bigots. 3 Black people have a lot to be angry about in America. Was s***ery correct? Can a s***e owner say "all men are created equal"? (In 1778, with Jefferson's leadership, s***e importation was banned in Virginia, one of the first jurisdictions worldwide to do so. Jefferson was a lifelong advocate of ending the trade and as president led the effort to criminalize the international s***e trade that passed Congress and he signed in 1808, a year after the British did the same thing.) It is complicated. Was he bad? Yes, as much as the rest of us, in one aspect or another. This country is not evil but had a terrible start as a Republic allowing s***ery to continue. As for bigotry, of course that was present but aspirations and principles of America were higher. Our forefathers strove to go beyond themselves in our Constitution. They created a revolutionary and uplifting way to live and govern.

Of course "Black people have a lot to be angry about in America." Not just s***ery but one hundred years of Jim Crow Laws and segregation. Did all that just disappear with the Civil Rights act? Profiling by police departments. Stricter sentencing for crimes and more likely to be sent to prison on first offense. It is all documented: B****s are still seen and dealt with as "less than." The race card is not "worn-out": it is alive and having children.

Let me be clear: I am against the removal of Confederate monuments and statues. However, this point needs to be addressed: "Tear down statues that have been in place for more than a century... Don't study any of the related history." The related history is the why and when these statues were erected. This is critical to assessing their value. (But first, in my opinion, rather than scrapping these monuments or packing them away, bring them back into the clear light of day – only this time, in a completely different setting. Collect these fallen Confederates in a vast, outdoor museum space, carefully presented and properly contextualized. If done thoughtfully, such a museum could t***sform objects of veneration into tools for edification, and move the US one step closer towards a fair reckoning with its past.)

1875-1895: Reconstruction Era ends. Lynchings skyrocket. B****s are steadily disenfranchised, allowing Southern w****s to enact Jim Crow laws. In 1896, Jim Crow is cemented into place when the Supreme Court rules it constitutional. 1895-1915: With b****s disenfranchised and Jim Crow laws safely in place, Southern w****s continue their campaign of terror against b****s. This era features continued lynchings, the growing popularity of “Lost Cause” revisionist histories, a resurgence of w***e s*******y organizations like the KKK, and the erection of Confederate statues and monuments in large numbers. 1915-1955: Jim Crow reigns safely throughout the South. This is the fevered period of Confederate statues and monuments. It is fueled by W***e S*******y and a revisionist grandeur of the "Lost Cause." B****s are almost back in their proper place. The resurgence of this commemorative putsch comes with the Civil Rights Movement. Are both a coincidence?

The Left and Right are now extreme. Why? Because most have lost their ability to Reason objectively. The threat of ruin surrounds us. We have been outflanked by succumbing to fear and h**e. Fear and h**e are now ideology and religion. Obama and Trump are twins. They offer the same insanity of extremism.

You are not what you claim.

You are a bit enigmatic. Instead of answering my post, you seemingly offer the whole problem in America as "a****a." This statement "No one should be poor in this country unless they sit on there butt all day" is absurd. (Besides the bad spelling.) The poor are purposeful in their plight? I have some difficulty with people not finding work. I am white, strong, intelligent, and social. Never had a day out of work I did not want. Got every job I ever applied for, even in some industries that "were not hiring," such as offshore oil rigs in 1980. But s*** happens for some. Being able-bodied does not equate to employable. Some regions are depressed and very few jobs available. Taking part-time at a fast food place instead of welfare or unemployment may mean far less money. What would you do with a family?

Now I will tell you something you don't like. Watts, you know, LA, black city. Loans given to them to start up stores, groceries, shoe stores, everyday stuff. I less then a year all broke, Korans pick up the store, and are
all still up and running. If you ever seen the Rodney King r**ts you would have seen them standing on the roof of their stores with M16, none got torched. We are talking the same people here. Twisted all you want.

A very LARGE ROGER on your post Cold Iron. America has indeed taken a very sharp LEFT turn to STUPID! There should be a lot of happy people indeed but most don't have the ability to think -- they have been dumbed down by our public school system. They think only of themselves and want to know what their country can do for them. God help this country when "they" are in charge! I firmly believe that Donald Trump is the last chance for America. But it seems that the dumb Republicans cannot take a lesson from the Democrats. They had rather fight among themselves rather to lock step and v**e for a sound Republican agenda. The Democrats cannot think for themselves but they can surely lock step and v**e for their liberal agenda.

Your observation has a high probability of coming true -- America will never be the same again. Starting with LBJ the downhill fall started -- with eight years of Obama we have reached a new low and probably will never recover completely -- the horse is too far out of the barn and down the road. What a crying shame! But I have not given up hope and will fight the Liberals to the end!!!

God Bless our great country,

--JB

You failed to mention one fact that most of you liberals do not want to be known. The Jim Crowe laws were introduced by Democrats of state legislators with out v**es from Republicans or few v**es. I would like to know how you will slant this fact? It must have been an mistake by you? It seems that the b****s bring up this law against the Republicans at times.
