Cars that never made it to production

THE 1954 OLDS DIDNT MAKE IT BUT WAS AUCTIONED OFF FOR $6,000,000.00 IN ARIZONA BY BARRETT JACKSON.

They were pure fantasy on wheels, machines designed to make the heart race and the mind ask, "What if?"
These 1950s concept cars were automotive art built to attract public attention,
test wild engineering ideas and give motorists a fleeting glimpse down the highway of tomorrow.

Sorry: I don't do selfies and have very few pictures of myself not in a group (but at least I DO post a photo of myself and not some clip art).

no doubt you like a plain old house with all white painted walls and white linoleum in the kitchen and just put up a few pictures and think you got a beautiful home. That doesn't do it for me and I customize everything and have made a couple pretty radical custom cars. I think all of those look hot compared to any of the bland boring cars they make today. You have to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars to get a car that looks like something. (Like a Lamborghini) It would be just as easy for the manufacture to build cars to look exotic. At least in the fifties they made cars that look like something. And is thinking the next step would be having cars like those pictured. I'd be happy with any one of those to trip around in. You would probably be embarrassed with all the attention you'd get.

You are correct. Was just remarking to a friend of mine yesterday that I could not understand why anyone would pay more than $50 for a purse, let alone thousands, when there are so many homeless, starving people right here in the USA.

You missed the most important one that, being the one car that started it all in 1938 The Buick Y-job. This car was actually built all six of them. For a time the manager if Buick division drove it around all the way up to WWII.

Chevrolet copied it and made a 1954 Corvette out of it. Head lights and blinkers and fenders front and rear is 1956 to 1961 with modifications to the 1954 and 1955 models.

Because those people worked hard for their money and expect to spend it any way that they want to. You could give that homeless person $200,000.00 and within a year they would be back on the street wanting another handout. You could take that person that worked for what he had and take it all away from him and he would have it back in just a few years. That is just how life is and you cannot change that. Feel sorry for them because some one has too. But remember this, they have the same opportunity as any one else in this United States but they do not want to do any better. It is life so get use to it. Why do you think that we have so many Democrats on Welfare. They are too sorry to work. Are you one of them? Just saying

Don't know about you, but the people I know who WORK for their money, don't blow it on over-priced junk. And no one is talking about giving a homeless person $200k, although one could probably set up a shelter to house 100 for that amount. Have you ever worked with homeless people? It is difficult to find a job when one does not have a settled address. It is almost impossible to get a job without a phone and (these days) computer access. I am on Social Security and get NO credit for all the part-time jobs I worked while raising my son, even though I dutifully sent in self-employment tax each year, which never QUITE was enough to secure me a quarter's credit. Ten years plus full-time, mostly at minimum wage, would bring me $200 a month if I chose not to go with my $500 widow's benefit. Bailed my ten-years-gone husband out of debt three times, don't have the energy to tackle many more challenges, but I manage to get by. MOST of those receiving help are doing all they can and NEED the help.

What happened to DESIGN? Going down the road after 50 to mid 60s everything pretty much looks the same. Tell me the difference between any of the new stuff other than the name brands.

In the 40s 50s and 60s cars were easy to identify.
Especially in the 50s and 60s.
I can not tell one brand or model from another anymore and even have trouble telling what color they are.
My favorite car that I had was a 1962 Chrysler 300
