Tea Party Revival or Death Blow?

With the passing of the debt ceiling in the Senate two interesting features are observed.
1. There are no Tea Party spending cut provisions let alone anything in it about ACA.
2. Ted Cruz couldn't get the procedural v**es to allow a filibuster which was a signal from establishment GOP they are going back toward center.

I wonder if the response to this will be a Tea Party revival or is it a big blow signaling the movement's demise?

Actually the Democratic strategists would be disappointed to see the end of the Republican party's children's table. Just when we were about to be treated to the nomination of a Canadian or the nomination of everyone's favorite well-read geographic expert, Sarah Palin.

How sad that the Democrats might actually have to wage a real battle with one of the Republican adults like Jeb Bush.

I'll mark you down as betting on the "Death Blow" column.

Actually I'm not too sure how this will play out. Normally, most folks would bet on the adults to win...but strange things can happen. Its not impossible that the Tea Party may exercise the "Sampson" option and bring down the roof on everyone's head, including their own. In which case, can the Republicans spell W-H-I-G-S ???

I think the Republicans took a lesson from the last time they tried to get some changes by holding up the debt ceiling raise. Even though anyone with any sense knows that the reason for the shutting down of the government was 100% Obama's and Reid's fault the media and therefore the public blamed the Republicans. They learned that holding the debt ceiling increase was not the way to make substantive changes to the problems we have today. They are going to attack, attack, attack the Obama Care fiasco and try to leverage that into taking control of the Senate and further their control of the House. If they had held up the debt ceiling again, then it would have given the Progressives something to rally support for them in the mid term e******ns. I think that letting the increase go through without making major headlines of how evil the Republicans are was probably a smart tactic.

I wouldn't bet on the death of the Tea Party, if I were you. To quote Sarah Palin "How's that Hope and Change working out for you?"

Actually she is up and about and talking about running for president. My guess is that she has met with her publisher and p.r. agents and has found that she needs a platform to "gin up" sales for her books and speaking fees.

If she is serious........you will hear squeals of delight from Tina Fey, the cast of Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Bill Maher. Tina Fey, obviously, would be the most delighted!

With people like her it's all about the money.

If McCain would have been elected could you imagine a i***t like her being a heart beat away from being president? If that doesn't scare the s**t out of you nothing will.

You are right about the money. The late night comedy writers really do want her to run. It saves them the trouble of having to write material. With Sarah Palin, the comedy writes itself. All they have to do is just quote her.

I believe it was a smart strategy too. I'll mark you down as betting on the "Revival" column.

Ok, you're like me and believes there's too much uncertainty in politics and it may not be a death blow yet but there certainly are GOP pressures to prevent a revival.
