This is a good write up of the evolution of George Washington's thoughts and actions re. s***ery. He was actually quite benevolent with his s***es, who lived a better life than many free men of the period.

Madison's

You America hating morons like to point to the fact that s***ery was a part of our early years. And you point to the founders who owned s***es to support your argument America is an evil country. The fact is, most were conflicted between theor belief s***ery was wrong, and the fact that abolition would have giarranteed the southern states would not have jioned the Union. You actually are so poorly educated that you selected three of the loudest opponents of s***ery for your example. You America h**ers do not care about the t***h, because it flies in the face of America being an evil nation built on evil principles. So, you go ahead and keep hating America and spewing your moronic stupidity, and we who have the t***h will continue to educate the uninformed. You amd your ilk are beyond hope. In your heart you know the t***h in my words, but your hatred of America will not allow you to open your mind to the t***h.
This is a good write up of the evolution of George... (show quote)

Hatred of American. You are beyond foolish, to be in favor of a minimum wage is not hating America. As for the founders policies, Jefferson was opposed to the idea and even paid a few of his s***es. But he also wrote that the greatest value of s***es was the breeding them and selling as live stoke... He talked of freeing them but did not do so... Did not want to give up a moneymaking resource...I can say for myself, I h**e the narrow minded, refusal to accept facts and the suppression of many on this forum and who use lip service to sound noble while in fact working for the causes of the few rather then the benefit of the nation....

Good post. These folks just refuse to face facts. Their favorite default position is that you have to look at s***ery through the lens of the times.

This is a lie. Thomas Jefferson, while in France prattled on and on about "freedom" and "liberty" ad nauseum. He was repeatedly confronted by his French hosts about his blatant hypocrisy of using such words when he was a s***e owner.

Hi response? Go back to his room, where he could continue shtupping his s***e, Sally Hemmings, whom he brought along as a "companion" for his trip.

Jefferson, Washington, and Madison, were very aware of what they were doing. England had enacted laws to begin to eliminate s***ery in 1774. These men knew their gravy train was about to end. Freedom to them meant the "freedom" to have others do the hard labor for free on their genteel plantations. They and their ilk also were quite fond of their late night "adventures" with the prettiest Black s***es.

These wingnuts are dumb enough to believe the nonsense of their elementary school days. They actually believe it was all about "tea".

Typical libtard wrong thinking. We don't need a living wage. Period.

So ... you prefer that people who are not paid a living wage turn to the government for food stamps and welfare to survive? You ENJOY paying for that? That is not capitalism, my friend; that is the beginning of socialism.

Did I say that? No, I didn't. A living wage will do nothing more than keep unemployment high, create higher prices, lower GDP, and a stagnant economy. You libs think that money grows on trees, that the populace can pay infinite dollars in taxes, and a company/corporation can pay higher and higher wages regardless of competition and cost of doing business. No, pal...what you're advocating is socialism.

What did people do back in the olden days? There was no minimum wage, no living wage. You either found work, or survived on your own...there was no food stamps, no welfare, no SSI, et al. Personally, I think we need to go back to those days. You either make it on your own initiative, or you die.

Another ignorant response. Did you ever graduate from High School? If so, you sure didn't learn anything.

True, you could always go out and shoot a opossum or squirrel for lunch.... Several years ago, the fast food burger places in the twin cities were advertising $10/hr to flip burgers, then with the hard times the wage went down.. now $7 or $8 per hour.... But damned if the price of burgers went down,, Your market must be broken somehow. Or do you have the "correct" explanation? And no, I am not lying.....

If people could no longer afford the price of the burger and refused to buy at the escalated price the price of the burgers would come down or the business would go bankrupt. If the burger manufacturer has high standards and trains his help well they will be secure because his burgers are always good. IF on the other hand he lowers the requirements for his staff and his burgers suffer he will be forced to hire better help and pay more or quit and go home.

There must have been a shortage of unsk**led labor in your area at the time for them to advertise $10/hr wage. With the price of burgers going down tells me there is heavy competition between fast food businesses, and maybe there is a glut of such businesses. The businesses simply absorbed the increased costs, thus smaller profits due to this heavy competition. A few, or more, must have gone out of business in order for the labor cost to decrease.

I think it was the general collapse of the recession..... One day I noticed the place staffed by 30 something people, rather than college or high schoolers..

Minimum wage=gov. tells you what your labor is worth.
Free market tells you what you're worth by what it will bear.

If you can't understand that then there's no helping ya anyway.
