Even the article's bar graph shows that assault weapons (military *rifles* designed to be effective when assaulting an objective - not a person)consisted in only 20 cases. Secondly, they use incorrect nomenclature. Rifles have magazines (exterior to the weapon) handguns have clips (interior bullet supply). The Feikenstine gun bill is focused on appearance of various firearms, and not those that the Department of Justice cites as the problem. Those guns are already tightly controlled by BATFE, but criminals disregard those laws the same as the disregard other laws.
Time to end "feel good" but not effective gun laws and start enforcing the laws already on the books (which the federal government refuses to enforce).
There are no cases that assault rifles were used. The same day of the Newtown shooting I saw the Sheriff of Newtown interviewed. He said the shooter used pistols . He also said that an AR-15 was found in the
