with a loaded gun unsecured around their home. They both should be charged with criminal negligence and have their kids/gun taken away until they learn to be responsible adults.

What a dumbass pair of parents...At least the baby shot will be ok.

Crap like this only lends credence to the Liberal agenda to take away our 2nd amendment rights. Every time this happens there are more calls to cast our freedoms to the wind. When that happens and we become dependent on the State, we then become their s***es. Remember shots of Russian grocery stores? You would have to wait hours for some bread and wh**ever you really needed. If there was any left by the time you got through the line. Obama wants to cut jobs, so more welfare state the better. He wants us to be s***es to the system and so far he is doing a great job of it. Ted Cruz called him "dangerous' and I, as sure as I believe all of you believe that this is true. He had been so tossed around by his parents, had to live a lie. Now he has to continue that lie. What this makes is an arrogant, self-serving, deranged madman we have at the helm of our great country. He wants to brings us down to our knees. But the only time I will bow down on my knees for anyone it will be for Christ__i am a Messianic Jew--which are Jews who believe that Christ is the Messiah. Live Love from the great country of Texas!

Yes I suppose in the limited liberal mind that one accident cancels out the big picture.
The 15 most liberal cities in the US:

- Detroit, Michigan - 24 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Gary, Indiana - 15 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Berkeley, California - 5 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Washington, DC - 13 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Oakland, California - 16 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Inglewood, California - 8 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Newark, New Jersey - 11 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Cambridge, Massachusetts - 5 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- San Francisco, California - 7 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Flint, Michigan - 24 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Cleveland, Ohio - 14 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Hartford, Connecticut - 13 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Paterson, New Jersey - 11 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- Baltimore, Maryland - 15 violent crimes/1,000 residents

- New Haven, Connecticut - 15 violent crimes/1,000 residents

The national average is four violent crimes/1,000 residents. Every one of the 15 most liberal cities in the US has a higher violent crime rate than the national average. Twelve of the 15 have a violent crime rate that is at least double the national average. Two of them have a violent crime rate that is six times the national average.

Sad case, as a CHL holder I feel that the Dad should have had it strapped to his body and not left it in the house when he was not there.

Well maybe he had another gun with him but with a young person in the house somewhere that it was not accesable to the kids.

The libs will go crazy saying this is a reason to ban ALL guns although the most used weapon used in murders is a hammer, then some kind of blade and they are not calling for banning everything from Home Depot and Lowes?

moonbeam-Agree ! If confronted by a home invader with a shot gun what would you rather have a loaded hand gun, an empty hand gun or a baseball bat ? These people made a costly mistake and are already paying the price for that error. In a progressive society where criminals are allowed to run rampant this is what results. People should not have to arm themselves to feel safe. In a similar situation, those calling for their heads to be put on the chopping block would be pleading for mercy. Good Luck America !!!

On the rare occasion that no one is home the guns go in the safe but we have no kids here. So I agree that it was irresponsible but that could apply to both sides of the leaning scale. I mean look how irresponsible it was to re elect a proven failure for a second term.

As I see it, Gun control is a moot issue. Criminals don't obey laws, that's why they're criminals. Should firearms be outlawed completely, citizens will simply disobey and arm themselves anyway.

Gun ownership carries inherent liability, so if used improperly, the owner is liable. Common sense is not required for gun ownership. The bottom line is, if you own a firearm, you put people at risk. There are NO accidents, proper gun safety precludes them, therefor when such events occur the owner has willfully neglected safety and should be held accountable.

What this Texan has to say to that, is what we have learned, just don't put too many round into the burglar. Or, as I do to avoid being charged with over k*****g, my one shot will put a hole in a man that should blow out his chest, so my problems are over, and I don't even have to shoot straight, just aim and fire. Call 911 and have him removed the dead assed stiff who tried to rob the wrong home. Live love from the great country of Texas!

Mistakes and bad choices happen. Or are you the perfect one? This has happened to non-Christians as well. Instead of mocking, we should be praying for these people. The true i***ts are those who think they never make mistakes, so they sit back and mock those who do. Remember, what goes around, comes around.

Was there a point here? I just hope none of your kin folk come home drunk or something, you'd have to dishonor their memory to maintain your "perfect" score. That would be very sad. I'm pretty sure you made my point though, come to think of it.
