That could all change real quick all that has to be done is pas a bill that requires every adult family male must be issued a foid license and then be required to purchase a firearm and ammunition for that firearm and keep it on hand at all times. The firearm may be a long gun or a pistol which ever is preferred and then provide instruction and target practice to those that take advantage of said program.

It takes to long for the police to respond but gang banger's are really afraid of citizens that own and can operate their firearms proficiently. This has been proven in city after city that you arm the citizens and they the gang banger's exit stage left post haste.

Not disagreeing with you on either point. Just adding to it. I live in Chicago and know a lot of police and ex police.

You would have to break that democratic link between the mayor and the police department for that to work effectively.

most cops I know are fed up with political nonsense. Also, why just male family members? A lot of females are really good shots and not prone to freezing up when there's trouble.
