Time for the states to take back their power.
Convention of the states needs to be expanded to protect the people from a government hell bent on bankrupting this country.
"The Georgia Senate has passed the COS application by a v**e of 37-17, becoming the first state legislative body to do so.

The resolution has six sponsors: Majority Whip Cecil Staton (R-Macon) of the 18th District, Senate President Pro Tempore David Shafer (R-Duluth) of the 48th District, Ronnie Chance (R-Tyrone) of the 16th District, Butch Miller (R-Gainesville) of the 49th District, Judson Hill (R-Marietta) of the 32nd District and Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega) of the 51st District.

Both state senators representing Bartow County, Chuck Hufstetler (R-Rome) and Bruce Thompson (R-White), are among the resolution’s co-signers."

Number of states passing COS resolutions since the U.S. founding: 49. Hawaii is the only state to have never passed one of these.

Number of Conventions of the States held, beyond the
18th century: ZERO.

Just one more sign of panic on the far right. Other signs of panic include:

Impeachment fantasies

Civil War 2.0 fantasies

C**p d'etat fantasies

Suppressing minority v**ers fantasies

It is dawning on the right that they can't ever rule with a coalition of angry old white guys and angry young white guys. The "adult" Republicans and the Republican "children" are at war currently over expanding the Republican tent to include more young women and Hispanics.

The far right is very worried about what President Obama's e******n means and the fact that the Democrats have put together a ruling coalition with a very big tent. I'm sure they are also aware that more minority babies were born last year than white babies.

The states rights folks haven't reeked of this much desperation since the 1960s.

You need to read it so you know what you are talking about. I have no idea what you are talking about but it has nothing to do with Convention of the States.
Civil War 2.0 fantasies

C**p d'etat fantasies

Suppressing minority v**ers fantasies

I read the link. There is no mention of the historical massive failure of these COS fantasies.

Those that refuse to learn from history are indeed condemned to repeat it. These COS fantasies are as old as the country itself.

Just a bit of proofreading? "Obama's e******n " should have read "Obama's S****N e******n". Meaning everyone should be afraid! The people have lost our country! It's no longer neccessary to hold e******ns, the l*****ts have found a way to steal every e******n!

So you are saying you read it and still got it completely wrong? That's just sad.
Georgia is the first state to pass application for COS. I don't know what you are talking about when you say 49 states have already passed it.

That is one of the symptoms of Liberalism - diminished reading comprehension. Another is civil discourse, they are not capable of it.

What is "funny" (ie strange, not haha) is that THEY think they are both civil and intelligent!?!

To clarify for Folk... The COS Application is "The Convention of States Application" which is provided for in Article 5 of the USA Constitution where State Legislatures can agree to hold a "State Convention" to Pass Amendments to the USA Constitution, LEGALLY BYPASSING CONGRESS & PRESIDENT... It takes two-thirds of the State Legislatures to Apply for a COS, and once the Convention is held, the State Legislatures send Representatives to see if they can agree on passing Amendments to the USA Constitution... Each State has one V**e to agree on Passage of any Amendments that come-up for a V**e & it takes three-fourths of the States to pass any Amendment... So currently, it will take 34 State Legislatures to Pass a "COS Application" & hold the "State Convention" & once the Convention adopts Amendments, it will take 38 State V**es to Make the Amendments Binding, as if passed by Congress, signed by the President & Ratified by Three-Fourth of the States.

So Georgia is the First State to Start the Process of a COS with 49 State Legislatures to be Heard From...
