Not me, I'm perfectly happy and proud to be heterosexual.

I wouldn't mind being an ambidextrous heterosexual but since I am not so physically endowed I do like being heterosexual.

I started carrying a 22 at 12 but no one ever showed or told me anything about shooting and I am a very slow learner and since it was easier with a shot gun I just never bothered now I doubt I could even make it to the woods to say nothing of hunting when I got there.

Got my BB gun at seven, .22 at ten, and 12 guage at fourteen.
I was firmly taught 3 rules:
1. There is no such thing as an unloaded gun.

2. A gun is not a toy.

3. You never point a gun at something you do not intend to shoot.

my dad believed that if I had a BB gun and shot someone in the eye that person would be blind for the rest of their life however if you had a .22 and shot someone in the eye they would be dead so being blind wouldn't matter

My dad could shoot jackrabbits on the dead run but my mother didn't like us having any guns so guess what?

According to my local firearms and ammo dealer, the high price is a product of supply and demand.

Because everyone thinks firearms and ammo will be outlawed, my dealer says he can't keep either on the shelves. He says the ammo manufacturers are working overtime to keep up with the demand, but it's still not enough. Hence the price is high, Basic market economics.

My guess is that any type of firearms control will focus on ammo. They can't ban firearms-there's already enough for every man, woman and child in the US to have at least one, although that ownership is concentrated in fewer hands.

So what will "they" do? Maybe make getting ammo as difficult as possible. But it won't be price. It will be hoops like ID and paperwork on the firearm the ammo is for, if I had my guess.

Who knows. It ain't happened yet, so keep buyings .22s and store 'em. . Reload everything else.

PS: 500 .22 longs at $40 isn't outrageous. It's not cheap, but you can get a lot of shooting out of 500 .22 longs. And a lot of squirrel meat.

Ammo is the main problem now thanks to "Obama the firearms salesman"

A brick (500) 22 shells, is nearly $40

Like you, I use a 22.

That sounds like a handy trick. A rare earth magnet from a computer you say. I'll have to research that one.

I was a welder when they were building the rare earth mining facility at Mountain Pass, CA back in the 1970s-basically a four-story sluice box fed by 48 inch and 60 inch slurry pipes coming out of the mine. So I know what rare earth is-and I'm not sure if they're all ferrous or not.

They closed the facility down in the1980s but recently re-opened it (or so i hear) when the feds figured out that China was selling them all the "strategic metals" that come from rare earth (as they were called when I worked there)

An interesting job-working in the hills above Death Valley. A hour from Vegas casinos and two hours from the Chicken Ranch in Pahrump. I made a lot of money, but spent a fair share, too.

Nipton, Cima, Kelso, all those little towns way out in the middle of nowhere. Quite the experience. Hardly seems real this far on.
