No, not politicians, Food Stamp recipients. I have an idea, Cut off all food stamps to the wetbacks who are receiving them illegally. That would cover far more than the one percent, and how can preventing theft be perpetrating it?

15% of all participant households have elderly (age 60 or over) members.
20% of all participant households have non-elderly disabled members.
The average gross monthly income per food stamp household is $731; The average net income is $336.
37% of participants are White, 22% are African-American, 10% are Hispanic, 2% are Asian, 4% are Native American, and 19% are of unknown race or ethnicity.[27]

Stats from US Bureau of Statistics state that the Hispanic figures are higher. Perhaps they are hiding in the 19% unknown. Matter of fact, US Bureau of Statistics also states that at least 60% of illegal households receive food stamps, and in some areas (notably CA), the figure approaches 90%. Illegal households are overwhelmingly Hispanic.

Cut out wetback welfare and there would be no need to cut anyone's SNAP. The problem is not disabled Americans, it is enabled i******s.

I agree, banjo. One thing I have been very consistent about on this forum is my desire to see the federal government THOROUGHLY investigate the fraud and abuse occurring with our welfare programs. I think the programs themselves have merit when they operate the way they were intended, but too many people today are getting away with abusing the system.

Eligibility rules for Social Security disability, for example, state:

"To qualify for disability benefits, you must be so severely impaired, physically or mentally, that you cannot perform any substantial gainful work. The impairment must be expected to last at least 12 months or result in death and based on medical evidence. Disability benefits are not payable to people disabled solely due to alcoholism or drug addition."

Yet I know of at least 4 individuals collecting SSDI who do not meet those criteria, and I bet a lot of OPP participants do, too. Lots of abuse going on with food stamps, too, and not just by i*****l a***ns.

I don't care if it costs BILLIONS to ferret out the abusers and c***ters, I think we would still save a lot of taxpayer money.
