Trump and Putin....

What an interesting time to be alive! Today our President will meet with the President of Russia and for the world, this can be a win/win situation. A Chance for cooperation, a beginning of the end to the "cold war! Another superpower to oppose the muslin invasion and ISIS. But, for President Trump it will be a loose/loose. If they get along then all the media would frown and say.... see, they colluded to make a "one world order." They c***ted k**lary! If on the other hand, they do not get along then the media will say.... "the art of the deal, my behind! Look at old orange hair, he is not a statesman and certainly not respected."

Russia and the US... what a history, I recall as a child reading about Roosevelt and Josef Stalin. Roosevelt thought he could charm Stalin with his easy words. But, Stalin saw him as a "slick used car salesman." Then along came John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev where war was one outcome... talk about h**e! The cold war was a misnomer, it almost became a nuclear war! Moving along, Boris Yeltsin and Bill Clinton, bedfellows in private and adversaries at most public meetings. I tell you, there was some pillow talking between these two. But, the cold war became less of a powder key and Russians as well as Americans slept easier. And then there was the 'productive' presidents, on both sides; Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. It took time, but cultivating a good relationship paid off with an agreement to eliminate nuclear weapons. In June 1988, when Gorbachev’s t***sformation of Soviet domestic politics and foreign policy was accelerating, Reagan declared during the Moscow summit that the USSR was no longer the “evil empire” it had been in “another time, another era.” How far I thought we had come... from beating desks with shoes to the brink of war.... to hear that the USSR was not an "evil empire" and now it seems that the obama administration along with the media has made an impossible, a damn if he does and damn if he does not, situation.... but either damn, we are in for another future altering event. Our President, from all indication, would like to work with Russia to bring about a better world and President Putin has stated that he can see a better tomorrow by cooperation.... and standing in the way.....

Good mornin' ma'am,

I've been flipping between Fox and CNN and I'm amused at the differences in the coverage of this event.

On the CNN side I've listened while a line of democrats voice their opinion on what Trump should say to Putin.

Their smug attitudes are laughable because I'm certain that Trump doesn't give a 🐭's 🐴about what they suggest.

Good Morning! I have not turned on the news this morning, but I am sure that our Democrats are in "fine form." Our President, regardless of what he does, can not win! In 20 years or so, I wonder what our history books will tell about this period of our history.

I think you'll do well here.

I'm no intellectual myself.

In fact, I'm best described as a red neck.

You'll see that there are a few here who promote themselves as scholastic over achievers.

They usually get served a dose of reality and find that they're in above their heads when confronting some of our more seasoned members.

I look forward to your comments and hope you'll hang around with us a while.

Wolf...

Wow, scholastic over-achievers..... I don't think you will find too many of them on OPP.... perhaps those who would like to think that are brilliant. There are exceptions, like self described "red necks" who truly are gifted!

Hello Donna, welcome to OPP. You are going to be in for some mistreatment.... only because of your comments lack continuity and punctuation. To me, those things matter much less than the over all message. Just heads up, be prepared for your message to become inconsequential to the spelling/grammar N**i.

Gosh.... now I blush. I have said this in the past, but I will say it directly to you.... I prefer your company; I find humor, love, and strength in your words.

I will be sure to do my best. More of a math person myself but i will try to pay more attention. All though i can handle as much as i can give. Used to using Twitter only allowed so many characters and i don't waste them on punctuation.
Thank you for the welcome as well as the heads up.
