How else are they going to get v**es? You don't really think they're too concerned about values, do you? They're politicians, which is the same as saying they're sales persons. They are only going to back things that will sell, that's how they make our money.

Well. The SOTU did do some good in lighting a fire under the Republican Congress. Still, I will not forget that throughout most of this last term they did nothing except stand in the way of the President's recommendations. How much time did they waste just in fighting ACA that should have been spent constructively? I won't forget this and will v**e accordingly. This has been the most embarrassing term in the history of the Rep Party and will go down in history as such.
This is typical of the Reps (conservatives) that after spending so much time making a mess of the government, they think that in a few months they can rectify things. I look forward to the Congress being completely replaced by new blood as aged blood has been overcome with hatred and old-time philosophies. There is no "going back!"
It took him a while, but President Obama has finally come forth as a strong personality with a strong character. He had to learn the ropes first.
You may be right and my take is: don't underestimate the GOP. They say v**ers have a short memory.
I just think it has been a poor strategy from them. Maybe they are relying on the wrong consultants and pollsters. It had just morphed away from the traditional GOP. When Bob Dole had made a special appearance for a disabilities treaty and the GOP did not support him, it was the final tell to me how the GOP was something it had not been before. They probably lost more traditional republicans since then.
The posture of Mr. Obama isn't that incredible to me. It is quite an easy strategy to take and split up a GOP that is barely unified. I'm not sure if Mr. Obama's strategy will be to maintain the posture or if it is time to ease off if the GOP sends concessions. The political advantage could be for him to hold the line but that could backfire just as it did for the GOP.

Only time and the v**ers ability to take their eyes away from duck dynasty, the bachelor, the voice and other "reality" shows, so that they can see and understand what is REALLY going on around them.
I am afraid that the majority are not "in the know" because they are too distracted. There will no doubt be many more distractions, come e******n day. The GOP is counting on it and they may be right.
