Its still doesn't amount to anything more than an opinion,,, from a disc jockey ????? you guys read something like that and seem to except it as t***h,,, its a story and an opinion,,,, you dummies hang on to this "welfare queen" idea so dearly,,, Its terrible that some people take advantage of assistance offered by the federal govt,,,, no one would disagree with that ,,, no one ,,,, where you guys seem to miss the point is that in the grand scheme of things its much less significant then the handouts to large profitable corporations ,,, nobody is defending welfare queens,, and no body is attacking hard working individuals whether they are DR.s or mechanics,,,, the argument is why are we giving hand outs to profitable businesses for hundreds of billions (700 in the bank bailout alone) and then telling poor people no matter what their circumstances are that they can't eat,,,, the principles of hard work and to strive for a better life is admirable,,, I bet everyone on this site has a similar upbringing,,, but in the big picture it makes no sense to scrutinize the 1.6 billion and not even question the huge amounts wasted on corporate America (who will eat and quite well I should add) whether they get the subsides or not,,,, The argument is border line insanity !!!!! even if everyone on welfare is a fraud,,,, there is still no valid argument as to why we give huge amounts to people that don't need it

what do you consider huge amounts wasted on corp am.and just how much do you think we spend on welfare upkeep?

so every one should have their earnings stolen to keep people on the dole some of them have been on it since the freedmans bureau.

The link I provided was in reply to Faiths statement that Democrats were totally responsible for the housing bubble and crash, I thought the link proved that it was not that simple... I try to base my opinions on what I believe to be fact , I try to remain open minded so my opinions can vary due to the amount of bad data and lack of verifiable fact,

I must be honest, I too wonder why we as a people disregard the govt. Letting out bids to Boeing, Lockheed, and many military weapon producers.

Billions of dollars at a time. Many are and were employed And received high wages and benefits. The recent threat to move Boeing (Mc Donnell Douglas ) out of Washington. Many states offered billions in tax advantages, free land, free buildings just to have the company move to their state.

This was going on before we were even in a war. Not the latest boeing move.)

I can go along with research to devise new weapons. We even made many jobs from the NASA programs. I don't consider NASA corporate welfare.

But to give these companies large amounts of money to build weapons that are just in storage, some even antiquated before they are even used, is worse than feeding people.

I am going to look for some pictures I received in an email a long time ago of acres and acres of planes, tanks, jeeps, artillery pieces. All perfectly lined up just setting, rusting away. Never to be used. There is something wrong with this. Now don't yell at me Gringo, I'm just being t***hful.
I really hope I can find those pictures, it blew my mind.

During my working career I worked on a number of military bases and other facilities and the amount of old used military s**t would run in the billions and that's just from what I seen. Multiply that by the number of bases in this country and around the world and you have a serious waste of tax dollars unless you're one of the contractors getting paid to make it.

I believe the planes you're talking about were in Arizona or Nevada. I remember seeing on tv the graveyard full of planes that probably costs us hundreds of billions just sitting there rusting away. Every branch of the military has their junk yards and most are out of sight from the public.

The worst base I saw for military junk sitting around was Ft. Knox. Rows and rows of worthless s**t just sitting there. I thought why don't they get rid of this junk and scrap it?

The original order--to force banks and mortgage co.'s to give mortgages to people who had no means to repay is a democrat idea, and the real cause of the whole fiasco.

actually if we are just talking about welfare fraud corporate welfare far out weighs it,,, the article I posted yesterday stated !.6 billion closely scrutinized vs. over a trillion without much oversight ,,, almost a thousand times more

80% of the farm bill is for food stamps; and 37% of the food stamp program is fraud. How many billions is that?

Also--Pres. Bush had to deal with 9/11 and Katrina-2 VERY expensive tragedies. And the democrats wailed constantly about the expense, including then Sen. barackhussein. I feel we had won the war in Iraq, and since '09, it's a loss, but we're still pouring billions over there. Why are they not wailing now ?

It doesn't fit their narrative of blaming Bush.

Ricko,,,,, fact : the difference between facts and conjecture is historical data of which your statement has none,,,, I especially was humored by the "Obama is unqualified',,,,, Obama was a constitution Law professor from Harvard,,, now lets look at past presidents, Bush ,, failed business man, his idea of good business was to take out ridiculous loans against assets,, divvy up the money amongst him and his board as bonuses and drive the business into insolvency,,, BTW that's how Romney made his billions ,,,
Clinton was a graduate of georgetown and yale law schools,,, Bush 41's father Preston was a N**i sympathizer that wouldn't stop dealing with Hitler until Congress past a law to forbid it and then he fought the law in court,,, Reagan was an actor,, a grandfatherly type who could "sell"
