Donald Trump vs the « 4th Estate
By Thierry Meyssan
https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/07/thierry-meyssan/donald-trump-vs-4th-estate/

By awarding itself the title of the « 4th Estate », the US Press has claimed e******y with the three Democratic Estates, although it is devoid of popular legitimacy. It is waging a vast campaign, both at home and abroad, to denigrate President Trump and provoke his destitution – a campaign which began on the very evening of his e******n, in other words before he even arrived at the White House. It won huge success amongst the Democrat e*****rate and in the allied states, whose population is convinced that the President of the United States is deranged. But Donald Trump’s e*****rs are holding fast, and he is proving able to fight efficiently against poverty.

The International Press campaign aimed at destabilizing President Trump continues. The smear machine, set up by David Brock during the t***sitional period [1], plays up, as much as it possibly can, the hot-tempered and often vulgar character of the P**********l Tweets. The media entente, organized by the mysterious NGO First Draft [2], repeats tirelessly that the Justice Department is investigating the links between the President’s campaign team and the dark conspiracy attributed to the Kremlin.

A study by Professor Thomas E. Patterson of the Harvard Kennedy School has shown that the US, British, and German Press have quoted Donald Trump three times more often than previous Presidents. and that, during the first 100 days of his presidency, 80% of their articles were clearly unfavorable to him [3].....

The press did not name itself the fourth estate. That would be Edmund Burke. Since it did not name itself, it cannot have claimed e******y with the other 'estates'. As the press is market driven, the idea that it is devoid of popular legitimacy rings false also. Making money relies on popular legitimacy.

As to the campaign to denigrate the President: it was Trump who got many hours of free campaign publicity while running for the Rep. nomination. It was also the President who picked fights with many of the press. 'F**e news' or 'enemy of the people' ring a bell? The President's tweets are ripe for analysis and fact checking, which is the role of a free press.

There is nothing in this post to show the press doing anything other than it's job.

Will the Trump supporters stop whining about his press coverage when all the news coverage sounds like Pravda or TASS? It's not the press's fault the administration and President keep shooting themselves in the foot.

When you have one of the three stooges in a high profile position, the articles practically write themselves. If you plant a garden in direct sunlight, you shouldn't complain about your plants getting too much sun.

Were Trump to be possessed by a real human, he'd probably stop making an ass of himself - then have no reason to complain that because people call him an ass. As the great Forest Gump once said " stupid is as stupid does ".............stupid people should just get used to being called out.

I stiill remember the days we had only the ABCNBCCBS network for "news"
Now we have the ABCNBCCBSCNNPBS network for "news".
