Actually, the ceiling is held up by 2x4 lumber. The drywall is attached to the lumber as a wall or ceiling covering. Please go by a house under construction and observe the framing is in place and the roof and exterior wall covering is installed (a process known as "drying in") and the insulation is installed before the drywall is attached. The drywall does not offer anything but a place to put paint or wallpaper. And for your information, the term "sheetrock" is copywrited.

My argument has always been that sheetrock walls have a lot of strength. Those in the twin towers which had steel studs on 16" centers were much stronger than the sheetrock walls which hold up your ceiling and roof. Those interior walls by themselves would have prevented the floors in the towers from pancaking on the floor below.

Sheetrock by itself can support a lot of weight:

1/2" sheetrock supporting 160 lbs.
1/2" sheetrock supporting 160 lbs....

This is becoming your standard cop-out when you can't come up with a rebuttal.

I have a guilt free conscious because I choose not to drive a r****ded electric car. Walmart doesn't sell Polo and UnderArmor. You are ok with child abuse!

Your failure to do your part in reducing c*****e c****e is an insidious act of child abuse you are inflicting on your grandchildren.

I'm not making a 4 year old check rocks for cobalt just so you can drive an almost-a-car with batteries. F****l f**ls are drilled by real men and refined by real men.

My grandkids love big pickups, by the way.

I understand that tree huggers are similar to karaoke lovers.

The strength is in the framing. I explained that to you. How many floors had rooms and how many were open areas with cubicles. Work on that one for awhile. Maybe one of you Troofer sites has that information.

You're teaching your grandchildren to be as stupid as yourself.
Look what you taught them:
