Drop one of the aerial bombs that explode in the atmosphere and will destroy Korea's electrical grid, leaving the country defenseless but without a loss of human life.

Unless such a weapon can be programed to respect the Russian and Chinese borders, that could be a problem...

What about South Korea.... If an EMP was used, it would not just affect North Korea but as far away as Hawaii. Think about it, there would be a silent flash high in the sky, and everything using electricity just … stops. Cars stop, power goes out, the Internet dies, satellites quit working, landlines and mobile phone systems go out, and computers are destroyed. And this would have a ripple affect, hospitals would be impacted, life support would stop, people in surgery would die without heroic attempts by the surgeons.... in the dark. Traffic lights would go out. And airplanes, well all their electronics would be fried within a 300 mile radius. Sure, they have a glide ratio.... but what if you were on the plane just taking off? A conservative estimate of deaths would be around 300,000 people at the onset, but much more would die due to sanitation problems, lack of water, and from the elements. Elderly and babies would be the first to die.... then as disease spreads .... And then there is the "flash over."

So... human life would be lost.... hundreds of thousands from just one E-1 pulse.

Aw, forget the EMP bomb, just drop a few MOABs on their next big military parade in Pyongyang.

Actually if we are talking about lives, less would be lost with MOAB. However, physical infrastructure would be a total loss. We,
America, has a habit of rebuilding every place we have landed, bombed, or fought.... so, in the end, it would cost us billions.
I know that we have worked tirelessly trying to put in place another "leader" of North Korea, now I see a SDS (sudden death syndrome)
in the near future.

Pennylynn, I really dont think that with President Trump, we would ever again be re-building a nation that we had to destroy due to provocations by the enemy. If who ever decides to take that big swing at us, I feel completely satisfied that they would never ever again test our resolve. Besides, as so many of our citizens have decried the past nation building efforts there would be hell to pay for the administration if they were to think about doing it. I do think however that, once the conflict was over, we could be the bigger entity and assist in some humanitarion aid.

They don't have much of an electrical grid but unless protected might render their missiles and artillery useless against the south which is the big worry. The other problem is it would knock out S. Korea and possibly some or all of China. Would be the beginning of WWIII. Google N. Korea at night, it's mostly dark while S. Korea is brighter than our mid- west. Mike

You got me to thinking with your comment about the lights; I ran across something I found interesting.

South Korea ranks 24th in population density, pop. 51,446,201 / 38,691 sq. miles = 1329 per sq. mile.

North Korea ranks 66th in population density, pop 24,213,510 / 46,541 sq. miles = 521 per sq. mile.

And to put that in perspective:

The U.S. ranks 182nd in pop. density; pop. 325,346,418 / 3,796,742 sq. miles = 86 per sq. mile.

they do not have much of an electrical grid, but a good idea anyway.knowing north korea , you then would have to totally wipe them out.

If you want to learn just how lucky you are to have such an opportunity, vist Monaco, 48,145 per sq. mile.

Won't work, N. Korea doesn't have much of an electrical grid and unlike us, most of their important stuff is probably protected. That would knock out Japan, definitely S. Korea and many more S.E Asia countries. I may be wrong but I would put thousands of artie on the boarder, gear up the B-2's and B-52's to take out the N's artie pointed at Seoul in one fell swoop. Install Aegius (spelling) cruisers and destroyers off the coast to intercept missiles. Mass bomb where the lights are lit because that I where the leaders live. The majority k**led would not be peasants but the people who are keeping them eating grass to survive, like cows would. Mike

No way Jose. Wishful thinking. If we don't take this threat seriously and quit beating around the bush, he will get to the point whereby he will be able to miniaturize a nuclear device and place it in the nose cone of an ICBM. Don't think for one second he won't use it! It is only a matter of time. Kim Un is lacking fries in a happy meal. He doesn't think like a responsible leader of a civilized nation. No nation can win a nuclear war! Hell knows what will happen if the crazy I***t sets off a firec*****r. It could usher in The Second Coming of Christ. America, Russia and China realize the danger of his toys. He is too immature and too much of a baby to be allowed to continue to play with them.
