More important than most realize.
Daniel 7:2-4
2) Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. 3) Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.
4) “The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.
Daniel saw the birth of the United States...the Declaration of Independence from Britain (the lion). The eagle's wings (we're the eagle...the whole world knows it) were torn from the lion and just to be sure we knew who God was talking about a
second symbol was given; ("it stood on two feet like a human...")
Uncle Sam!Makes me wonder...how close to 1948 did Uncle Sam become part of the culture? I'll have to check it out.
Jesus said, "Unless the days had not been shortened, no flesh would survive." It feels to me as if history has sped up. I don't know how else to say it or when I became aware of it.
America came about for a
reason. An important one. We've been instrumental in shaping the world, especially since WWI (the first Trumpet) and I don't think we're done yet. We have a
destiny as a nation, and even though I believe the whole world is about to go through the greatest upheaval yet (the sixth Trumpet), my read is that America will maintain its sovereignty while most of the rest of the world takes the doomsday path of globalism.
Have a great 4th!

I did some checking on Google just now and everything says that it was during the War of 1812 when the idea of Uncle Sam to stand for US came about. I will now check to see who did the first drawing of him.
It seems that James Montgomery F**gg drew the first picture for a poster during WWI for a recruiting poster. The name had been widely used since the Civil War.
