Hey there Dutch,,, I was just wondering how badly your head hurts by now, from banging it against the wall, trying to explain things to all the closed minded liberals in here.
I commend you for all your effort, surely by now a man of your intellect has plenty of ice on hand for the swelling.

Been working the snow blower today and wishing I could feed a few of them in it. Bui what the heck I have enough good manure here I don't need to contaminate my garden with the likes of them.
Great to see you still posting....

If you think "Liberals" are closed- minded, you should speak to a "Conservative" who cannot stand change of any kind, especially change that may benefit someone beside self. Read a history book , don't take my word for it!! After WWII absolutely nothing went back like it was in 1940 NOTHING! Change is ALWAYS coming down the road. Some of it not as welcome as we might like. Some of it benefits us and some others not so much...but it is coming, and it will be o.k. in the long term. Lighten up!

And I think for myself, and I own several very nice, formidable handguns and Rifles and a shotgun or two...I still like the idea of background checks, and I wonder how many of us NEED an assault rifle....hmmmmmm.

As a gun owner, I must say I am against nutty nuts like you. You just make statements without regard to any facts or pertinent information. The President has taken more than his share of abuse. He was charged with conspiring with a nut clergyman in Chicago...now we are back to Muslim...make up my mind, please. I remember JFK, being a Catholic, we will lose our country to the Vatican! The Berlin wall will permanently end any hope of peace, The Viet Nam War was absolutely a " must win " or else the whole region will go to the c****es! I could go on, but please keep your gun(s) locked, safe, and away from children not trained to use them. BTW, when the revolution does come your .357 Magnum, or AR 15, or AK-47 will not do too much damage to an M1A-1 Abrams or an F-15,F-16,F-18, or worse yet the new F-22 and F-35. Your gun(s) should be enjoyed for plinking, hunting, target shooting, and of course, protecting your family from danger...very rare. Thanks for your time Big D

Kinda like the success the Afghanistan "rebels" had against the entire USSR mechanized infantry and Airforce, eh?

And you're making a broad ASSumption that the US military would turn their might against their own homeland. They have families here too.

Putz.

I know lieberals are closed-minded. For an ideology that claims all-inclusiveness, all they really do is shout down anyone who doesn't toe the lieberal line.

Thanks to Heller, ALL NINE justices said the 2nd Amendment is an individual RIGHT...not a need...a RIGHT. It's clear our founding fathers believed the populace should be able to beat back a tyrannical government, and thus should be armed as well as the military.

Next: Define "Assault Rifle"

Magnumputz: If you have any memory at all. you may recall May 1970,.. I remember U.S. Soldiers did indeed fire into civilians! AND, just in case someone asks you. .U.S. soldiers happen to be some of the best trained in the world, Now I know you know what that means. I am neither a putz nor an anti-gun nut. But ,, again I do think for myself.

Magnumputz: apparently you don't read very well. I am most assuredly not raising my voice. Assault Rifle: Any Automatic or semi-automatic rifle with a large capacity magazine designed for military use. (Not civilian)..In order to be armed as well as the military I'm going to need a permit to park my M1A-1...Please refer to the second amendment carefully also how and why the "founding fathers" became involved in the American Revolutionary War! Thanks

The NATIONAL GUARD fired into throngs of pacifistic unarmed students(whom they despised) at several universities...yeah, I watched Billy Jack too. The US Military is forbidden to operate inside the US - Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.

If we had rifles designed for military use they would be full auto, but they aren't - they're semi-automatic.

You didn't mention how the Afghanistan rebels were able to essentially stop the USSR in their tracks with just ASSAULT RIFLES. Care to explain how they did that?

The reason I mentioned their families; if widespread, ARMED conflict were to break out, the military and police, historically head home if their loved ones are in the danger zone.

Putz.

I wonder how many of us NEED to v**e. I wonder how many of us NEED to be secure in our persons against unreasonable search and seizure. For that matter, what sort of vehicle do you drive? Do you really NEED it? According to FBI statistics, more people were k**led last year with kitchen knives than with so-called "assault rifles," so do you really NEED those paring knives? How about a background check before you are allowed to purchase one? It's only "reasonable" knife control. No one is going to come after your potato peeler. More people were k**led last year by bare hands than by "assault rifles," so I think you should have a background check before you are allowed to carry them, also. The Right to Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed, but your hands are going to need special licensing.

An assault rifle is a SELECTIVE FIRE rifle firing an intermediate cartridge and having a detachable magazine. Not "automatic or semi-automatic," auto AND semi.

You left out blunt objects. Background checks for all baseball bat purchases, golf clubs, and, of course, tire irons. :hunf:
