Apartment for rent

This business man met a beautiful girl and agreed to pay her $500 to spend the night with him
They spent the night together,then before he left the hotel room he told her he didn't have the cash on hand,but he would have his secretary write a check and mail it to her,
calling the payment rent for apartment
But then on his way to his office he decided that the event had not been worth the price
so he had his secretary send a check for $250 and enclosed the following note;
"Dear Madam,enclosed find a check for $250 for the rent of your apartment.
I am not sending the amount agreed upon because when I rented the place I was under the impression that it had not been previously occupied.
Also the heating was not what it should be,and it was entirely too roomy.
But the young lady returned his check with the following note;
"Dear Sir,I don't understand how you could possibly expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely.
As for the heat,there is more than sufficient if you know how to turn it on,and regarding the roominess,the apartment is indeed the regular size,but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it
please ,don't blame the management.
Furthermore ,please remit the full amount agreed upon($500) or we will be forced to inform your present landlady of your failure to honor your commitment"
