What if...

What if a former President was convicted of a felony and sent to prison? Would he keep his Secret Service detail and his pension? I've always wondered about this. Only seems right that he should lose both.

Another question. How long do you think Obama would live if his entire Secret Service detail decided to walk out on him?

I've often thought that the ideal punishment for the Obamas, husband and wife, was that given to Lt. Phillip Noland in the story about "the man without a country." Convicted of treason he was imprisoned aboard a Navy Ship never again to see or set foot on American soil again. We would be given the immense pleasure of never again having to see or listen to him again.

Probably so would he as long as he could take the money with him and leave Michael here. Mike

I would not inflict them on our Service Members. Better to just hang them for treason.

The worst punishment for them would be to confiscate all of their wealth and possessions and have them live as normal people. Make them get a 9-5 job and actually work for a living. No speaking engagements. No book deals. It would be a fate worse than death for them.

Maybe they could feature them on shark week by d**gging them behind the boat in the white shark feeding areas to get some nice pictures of the white shark jumping up with one of them in its jaws.

For their treatment of our GI's, I thought it would be a just reward. Revenge would be sweet. Hardtack, salt and water three days a week. Turnip greens and and parsnip soup two days, greasy grit gravy and chicken livers on the weekends. Lock them up in the bilge.

And make then clean it too. I had to do it once. It was one of the nastiest jobs I've ever had to do.

When I was a kid I worked one summer at Lowe's Boat Yard in Sarasota, FL. I was given every crappy job imaginable, being a kid, one of which was cleaning out bilges of luxury boats. The first time the owner had me clean a bilge he told me that the boat owner said he'd dropped a $20.00 bill in the bilge and if I found it I could keep it. Me, being a dumb kid, cleaned that nasty bilge so clean it sparkled. Of course there was no $20.00 bill. In 1953 that was a lot of money but so was the buck an hour I was making. Great summer job working with grown men I learned a lot. First lesson was not to be so gullible. They had a great laugh at my expense. I grew with that experience.
