(He also lied about it on his security clearance forms. And now it looks like he’s lied about it a third time!) As a result, he had to recuse himself from anything involving the Russia investigation. So, I guess if Jeff Sessions could make nonsense of his recusal once — what the heck, he might do it again, any day now, and find a pretext to charge Comey with perjury! Comey implied during his testimony there are more reasons to be wary of Sessions than those we know of, reasons that are currently classified, so it could all get very involved

I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that Comey lied (though I suspect it’s from the pro-Trump-no-matter-what right-wing media), but in a situation where you have different stories from two different people, any experienced investigator will tell you that it becomes a matter of credibility. Like him or not, Comey has built his entire career on credibility and integrity…whereas Trump has (as of June 5th, 2017) made 623 false and misleading claims.

His answer makes sense in the way complete nonsense makes sense to you when you and your friend are super high in your parents’ basement. If you gave an answer like that at a meeting at work, you’d be fired on the spot for gross incompetence and embarrassing your company.

Pick nearly any policy area and you can find a Trump answer as incoherent as this one.

As for the so called lying of Sessions to Congress. Good ole Franken asked a question that could have been taken two different ways. Sessions answered to what he thought the question pertained to. As for President Trump, when asked about the Russians, I believe he has hopes of Russia coming around to reason but thinks they could take the other route as the European countries may have to be fearful of Russia. Why is it so bad for the President to be hopeful for a friendly coexistence with Russia. It possibly will not happen but don't all of us hope for a good outcome?
