What's with the Invite-Only forum???

Being a 'new user' migrating over from the photography forum hosted by the same moderator, I have found a couple of topics I wanted to comment on, and was rejected. A couple of questions;

1) How does one get an invitation to participate on a topic in the Invite-Only Forum?

2) What is the usefulness of an Invite-Only forum? I like engaging in political discourse whether a poster agrees with me or not, which often opens up a topic for thought provoking and lively debate.

Invite only is for our thin skinned, easily butt hurt members who have delicate feelings.

Although I never use profanity, I understand that they prefer to maintain profanity free discourse.

I was denied access to an invite only discussion that was initiated by one of our foul mouthed liberals, simply because I suggested he join Islam and paint a target on his chest.

The only thing that I figure is, it protects the candy assed liberals when they make their outrageous comments and want to avoid negative feedback. Every time they get their feelings hurt, they construct another safe-zone, complete with crying towels, whine rooms, fluffy hugging teddy-bears, aroma candles, and a picture of Obama and Hillary making out!

Yep, I kinda figured that was it. Needless to say I shall never create a topic on that forum simply because I have a thick skin, and can usually refute anything the libs throw at me. However I do understand their need for safe spaces.

Welcome aboard! I am so glad you have decided to join OPP.

Regarding the invite only, from what the Mod wrote when it was rolled out, all you need to do is send them a PM and ask to be added.

Apparently there are special rules for that section. Link is in the announcement for the rules. (see above)

"..simply because I suggested he join Islam and paint a target on his chest."-- the protestor(s) sure lack a sense of humor.

Actually, I have yet to read anything here from a leftie that would suggest they possess any sense of humor at all.

Thank you Pennylynn. I opened your link to the rules and believe I shall abstain from that forum.

I don't think so. You're to mature and intelligent for that, and you seek interesting responses.

Invite Only.
Those who post insults or profanity will have their posting access for this invite-only section removed. So eventually (probably pretty soon) we should end up with a place for civilized political discussion.

Many people have no meaningful replies, instead they only provide profanity and insults. This section is trying to allow actual debate or exchange of ideas.
