Posting Comments On News Stories

I really do like "OPP", I can post anything I want to and it is not censored.
This is not true on many news sites: Blaze, WND, NewsMax, etc, etc.
I don't use profanity but many news sites don't appreciate my comments.
Many news sites require that you have a FaceBook account in order to login and post a comment .
I don't have a FaceBook account and I don't want one.
I have sent emails to various news organizations and I have asked them why they require a FB account
in order to post a comment. In those emails I have asked them to reply to me. None of them have.
Does anyone know why the various news organizations require a FB account. Do they get paid by FB?
I prefer DISQUES for posting a comment.

I would think that first they want to verify who you are, and secondly to see if you are a real nut, or just disgruntled.

There are a whole lot of people with Face Book accounts who are disgruntled and are REAL ****ING NUTs.
Probably most people with Face Book accounts are liberals which qualifies them as being disgruntled and real ****ing NUTS.

There are groups on facebook that promote many different ideas. I did not try to disparage anyone with my neutral comment.

It's all about the money, with a facebook account your peresonal data is available to be sold. Your remarks and preferences are avbailable to be data mined and that is worth big bucks to others. You should make the effort to create f**e personas to add to these social media websites. The more entries with wrong birthdates and different middle names you can get spread around, the more confusion to anyone attempting to find you via the web.

All the sites you quote are right leaning money making rackets posing as news outlets.

My lovely wife is "new School" and lives on Facebook almost 24/7. The good part of all this is that her activities are for the most part 'family' of which hers being Philippino is large and loyal. however for the vast majority its a lot of mindless self-serving chatter and often destructive to themselves and others. In other words a whole lotta "monkey business"

Family sounds good until you realize your posts are being viewed by anyone. I had a niece who persisted in posting pictures of family gatherings, particularly the children ranging in ages from two years to fourteen. Given the high number of pederasts who troll these sights looking for just such pictures, it places the children in possible danger. At the very least it reveals too much personal information.

You are so right. As for myself what friends (contacts) I have I do one by one and keep our business to ourselves. My wife's family connections (lots & lots) includes pictures etc.Somehow they don't realize that their post is open to millions to see. I think I shall mention that to her.

I don't want FB. In FB, people who h**e you could write all kinds of attacks, and even physical attacks like Radical Islam who wants to shut you up. Face Book has so many tragic events on people already. Fact is Zuckerberg wants to get out of FB, because of the evil works of people they could display and do on FB.

I agree. I do not have a FB account and I don't want one. I feel it's like having to produce an ID. The Face Book page gives people too much personal information. Not for me.
