From 'The Best Years Of Our Lives'...

Fred Derry: Some barracks you got here, Al. Hey, what are you? A retired bootlegger?

Al Stephenson: Nothing as dignified as that. I'm a banker.

"That isn't an option, Ally. You're going to have to talk to me."

"Sir, I decline."

"Oh, come on, Ally! You've already spoken to McIlhenny!"

"I have, Sir, when under the impression that he remained a combat branch officer. And--" Her voiced turned even colder"---Colonel McIlhenny is neither Cadre nor a representative of the Ministry of Justice. As such, he may in fact be an honorable man."

In Fury Born. By David Weber. I know it's not a movie, but I like this quote.

I was getting ready to ask what movie this was from...I didn't recognize the lines or the characters.

How 'bout...Lucky Ned Pepper (to Rooster Cogburn): "I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!"....from 'True Grit.'

From 'Saving Private Ryan'...Tom Hank's/Captain Miller (to Private Reiben) : "I'm a schoolteacher. I teach English composition... in this little town called Adley, Pennsylvania. The last eleven years, I've been at Thomas Alva Edison High School. I was a coach of the baseball team in the springtime. Back home, I tell people what I do for a living and they think well, now that figures. But over here, it's a big, a big mystery. So, I guess I've changed some. Sometimes I wonder if I've changed so much my wife is even going to recognize me, whenever it is that I get back to her. And how I'll ever be able to tell her about days like today. Ah, Ryan. I don't know anything about Ryan. I don't care. The man means nothing to me. It's just a name. But if... You know if going to Rumelle and finding him so that he can go home. If that earns me the right to get back to my wife, then that's my mission."

That was from the book in Fury born. It is set in the future. A drop commando almost dies avenging her family against some pirates who k**led them. As she lay dying, she cries out to the universe..."Anything for a chance at the ones responsible for this", for she only k**led those who's hands had done the deed. Then she hears a voice in her head..."Anything, little one?" The voice is Tisephone, the last of the fury's. Her sisters died while she slept and she is much diminished, yet she still was able to take her to a place where time has no meaning, until help arrived. Naturally, her superiors were wondering how she survived for a week in the freezing cold with the wounds she suffered. Also, naturally, she couldn't tell them. Eventually, they steal a cutting edge AI cruiser and set out to exact their vengeance. If you like military Sci-fi, this is a must read.

Close, Mike, but from Casablanca..."Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine."

From 'To K**l A Mockingbird,' and Atticus Finch...."If you just learn a single trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."

Maybe the most-remembered movie quote of all-time...and, the shortest: "Rosebud," from Citizen Kane.
