They wouldn't hesitate to use us as a food source.

I wonder...would I be a healthy & nutritious gourmet meal, or low-quality fast-food......

I visited a farm when I was a kid, along with my father. He and the farmer were talking and I saw an animal over in a mud wallow. I walked over to get a better look and the farmer had a s** fit screaming "get back"; it seemed this animal, a huge pig, was particularly vicious and had k**led and eaten lambs and dogs besides attacking the farmer. As I remember it was about the size of a Volkswagon, more likely about six feet long and three feet broad. It had a head like a bushel basket size in front of that body. It probably pushed 400 lbs. At 10 years old you don't have any concept that some animals on farms are dangerous.

I used to spend summers with my aunt, and uncle who had a hog farm, and those big ole boar pigs were just plain mean. The sows could be pretty rough too.
Also, my brother has a ranch south of here with a feral hog infestation that would blow your mind. He can't k**l em fast enough. If you k**l a 300 pounder, and go dump it by the trash pit, it will be gone in 3 days without a trace.

Arch, my son and I make a lot of sausage and I keep thinking I wished I lived where I could knock off a wild pig now and then. It is the old story, too much of anything is intolerable. We have some farms over in Orange county where the farmers k**l five or six deer a day because they are attacking their orchards or pumpkin patches. They then have to dig ditches to dispose of the carcasses. They are a prime nuisance to the farmer and time waster for them but the rest of us struggle to get a shot at just one in a season.

What is cleaning out the trashed pig, more pigs or other varmints?

We put up a game camera on a dead pig one weekend, and it's mostly other pigs with a little bit of every critter you can imagine thrown in.
