'Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases:
If it moves, tax it.
If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it'

I remember that quote. It reminded me of The Taxman from The Beatles' Revolver album, composed by George and one recording where Paul did the lead guitar. He usually did bass.
If I am correct, the income tax rate at the highest bracket, which The Beatles were surely in, in Britain was whopping 96%. It resulted in them taking many extreme steps, such as taking usresidence in British island colonies, the Caribbean I think, to spare them the burden. They didn't work.
[Verse 1]
Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
[Hook]
Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
[Verse 2]
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
[Hook]
Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman
[Verse 3]
If you drive a car, car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold, cold, I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, walk, I'll tax your feet
[Hook]
Taxman
Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman
[Verse 4]
Don't ask me what I want it for (Haha, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more (Haha, Mr. Heath)
[Hook]
Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
[Verse 5]
Now my advice for those who die (Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes (Taxman!)
[Hook]
Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me (Taxman!)
