The Left's Newest Scheme...

The other day I was watching the news and heard Mark Zuckerberg discussing how he believes we should have universal income. I know he's a lefty, so figured the concept was questionable. By the way, there are rumblings that Zuckerberg may consider a run for the presidency in 2020. Let's hope not. Will welcome honest discussion on this topic:

The situation described in this article exactly mirrors the conditions in Great Britain today. They have crerated a nation of l***hes who have become adept at traveling abroad while remaining at home to sign for their dole (through the connivance of friends). These people work at jobs and earn incomes not visible to the government, so in effect they steal from their countrymen who are paying the freight.

The note of optimism sounded about New York demanding forty hours of volunteer work sounds great until you realize there is no infrastructure to assign such work nor any means of checking it. Where is the need for all this volunteer labor? If it existed there would be paying positions associated with the demand for workers. Similarly, in the past, attempts have been made to "retrain" workers to qualify for new professions. As with any such efforts, no need was ascertained and the glut of poorly trained applicants for the few jobs available drove wages down to the point where it was more profitable to sit on one's duff than try to work.

Nothing beats a thriving economy for eliminating the need for ill conceived social parachutes. Reversing the legislation that encouraged jobs to migrate elsewhere and revitalizing the middle class through currency control and tax reform will do far more to better the conditions of the impoverished than any government handout. This is simply another socialist scheme to ens***e and control our populace. Instead of self reliant yeomen we are creating a nation of mendicant slugs.
