We can change, no matter what we are. But why? How?

What promotes change? Winning? Success? Respect of the community? The acceptance of our peers? Fame? Prestige? Riches? A position of power? A place of high influence? A title? A raise? Being an Elder in your church? An elected Government representative? President?

It seems highly unlikely, but not impossible, that those listed above may indulge in what needs to be changed in their lives. Yet things are good. Life is going well. What's to question? Goals achieved. Top of the world, ma! But is it?

Self-reflection when things are going well is usually self-affirmation. It is not any consideration of what you may be doing wrong but fear of what may go wrong. All actions are sanctioned by apparent results. This is why Jesus came to the disenfranchised. They question. Being a Liberal or a Conservative in Jesus means to always look and question; nothing is to be taken for granted or as presented. It is not doubt in him in our view; it is the assurance of the worldly things we doubt.

What promotes change? Winning? Success? Respect of... (show quote)

From the.perspective of the right: The right sees itself as the last bastion of the morals and ethic that built this nation. If the right changes, the left becomes unopposed. If the left is unopposed, the left wins. If the left wins, we lose our homeland.

This equates to no change from the right regardless of rhetoric.

Sounds good to me. Keep fighting the good fight for our country. We can never let the left win.

So, only question others, not one's self. I get it. Questioning one's OWN motives, might lead to conflict within one's own soul. Scary proposition that, so don't do it. That's why, BTW, we harp on everyone ELSE'S sins and not our own.

It is easier to feel good about ourselves - when we can point to someone else and say, " They're a far worse sinner than I could ever be ". Honest self reflection neutralizes most arguments before they start, because we're too busy trying to improve ourselves and have no time to fix someone else's errors.

What makes you think introspection is not occurring?

How would you know? Self examination is a personal inward look not available to your viewing.

You are making assumptions and acting as if they are fact. Perhaps you feel above your opposition? If so, a bit of introspection on your part may prove beneficial.

Personal growth was the point.
