Anthony Weiner pleads gulity in sexting tape

The sheer madness, stupidity, or blindness of any addiction is showcased in this man. It truly staggers my mind, after his career and reputation were destroyed by the same thing, that he would continue and somehow think he could get away with it--this time! Or maybe that didn't matter. He was obsessed. Yet to be so mindlessly driven by perversion, in a successful and supposedly well-educated man with much too lose, is frightening to me. This Dark Side seems to be taking over. Or maybe it is no worse than it has ever been, just under-reported. Why it frightens me is the sheer irrationality of it.

I naively expect a person with intelligence to wake up to reason; make enormously i***tic errors from passion, greed, or ambition but when caught, see the light. I also naively expect that the precise use of reason and logic will be able to persuade anyone of their false beliefs and premises, given enough time; such as some of the arguments here. I know I am wrong about both, and Weiner was just one more in a nearly endless example of my mistaken notions. However, to give up on those notions is almost like surrounding all hope for humanity.

Please write your own experience dealing with the phenomenon of addiction. It defies description in many ways but not its effects.

Weiner can't stop himself. He is a sick man. If he was a Republican he would be used to tar and feather all Republicans. Democrats were spectacularly successful using the arrest of Congressman Larry Craig to say all Republicans are a problem. So how comes Anthony Weiner is not used more to shame all Democrats?

teabag-Really? Addiction has to be a powerful uncontrollable force when a 52year old does something like
what Weiner did. He should have realized that putting that stuff on the internet would spell doom for him.
Both a life and a family ruined. America First !!!

Hi Ricko, check out pizzagate or pedogate or MKUltra. President is going to throw the S into the fan and heads other than Weiner's is going to roll. DC is a cesspool, I know this from personal experience. Mike
