This is what is important to our elected officials;

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/20/us/politics/a-loophole-allows-lawmakers-to-reel-in-trips-and-donations.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20140120&_r=0

As you can see, both big parties are well represented. "we the people" no longer control our Government because most of us don't have the price of admission, nor are we controlling large amounts of money our beloved Reps. would like to have.
I'll say it again, the only way to stop this is to send them ALL home, and start over. Serious, REAL campaign finance reform is needed, along with term limits and rules allowing constituents to "chastise" their representatives who go astray of their mandates.

Balls, chains, sledgehammers and rockpiles come to mind. (As do tall trees and short ropes).

Exactly! I'd like to see public whippings come back into style. It would make it harder to sit down to a $25,000 dinner, would it not?

makes sense to me because i have said for years, [to no avail] , term limits, age restriction, no lobbying, and after 8 years: theres the door, step quickly so that it doesn't hit you in the rear going out and as my japanese neighbors would say: sayonnara! there are too many politicians out there that think they either own their job and they can stay for life!......LPNMAJOR, I SAY CLEAN HOUSE OF ALL OF THEM. THANK YOU.

It would serve them right for slacking on the rockpile. Anyone who prates about "income ine******y" at a $25,000 dinner, while taking a multi-million dollar vacation that someone else paid for needs a public whipping. Or Three. I notice that the ones calling for "redistributing wealth" are always careful to redistribute someone else's.

Of course. It's OUR wealth that they want to redistribute. Not theirs or their "friends" wealth. Republicans are more open about wanting the wealth/power for themselves. Democrats are a little more sneaky, by claiming " give us your wealth and we'll do good stuff with it ", knowing the "Good stuff" means stuffing their accounts with our goods.
I know some people will claim that businesses money is theirs to do with as they will, BUT, that money came of OUR pocket and is being used to secure MORE. We are paying our rapists and thanking them for the rape. Perhaps gelding should be put back on the table for discussion.

Republicans tend to be better educated than Democrats, therefore they tend to cast their b****t for the more accomplished, sophisticated liar.

They have no intention of even trying, they set this system up to benefit themselves.

Sending them all home is the way to go. As for chastising them, v****g them out works perfectly.

We can not v**e them all out, it's the lesser of two evils. Control was lost the day Kennedy was shot.

Ah yes......Republicans always wishing death upon others. There is a country where the populace repeatedly does that. Its called Iran. Its a country that fits Republicans in many ways. After all it is a h********c nation run on religious principles. As a bonus the country is run by self-righteous men with unkempt beards. Put it all together and you have the Persian version of Duck Dynasty!

Brian, it isn't just the Republicans that are mad. It isn't just the Democrats that need to be replaced. Every damned on in Congress has been infected by the Capitol Hill V***s and need to be purged.
Religious Principles? H********c? This Country was founded on Religious Principles. What are you saying? Throw the Constitution out?
I don't see any Homophobes around here.

The country was founded on religious principles? Find one mention of Christianity, Judaism, or Islam in the constitution. Find one mention of Jesus, Moses, or Mohammed. I think you have confused the U.S. with another nation.
