I Smell A Compromise

$1 trillion budget deal will keep the government running through September. Both parties benefit from the deal. Where GOP leaders failed; defunding Planned Parenthood and taking grants away from sanctuary cities. Both areas Trump wanted to defund. And Planned Parenthood gets their half a billion dollars too.

In other news, Republican leaders are confident that Republicans will have enough support to pass a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, within a week.

Question: Is it possible that Congressional Republicans caved over the budget in order to get the Obamacare legislation finally done without a fight?

Larry-that is a distinct possibility. However, the democrats threatened to shut government down if certain items were not included and we know that they and the lame street media would have blamed the republicans. I believe
the health care bill will still result in a fight and not sure if it can pass the Senate using the NO. So, you may be correct in that they gave in on this stop gap bill to gain Health Care. I hope they get it right and that we do not end up with Obamacare lite and problems which will dog the GOP for the next 3 years or so. This is too important to screw up. America First !!!

The Congressional Republicans recognize that the American people are a conservative people who do not support radical change. Trump if anything represents radical change, so the Congressional Republicans went conservative.

WRONG! The Republicans are again h*****g themselves. Don't know why but they can't stand to be the winners. You Sir are an I***t, the Republicans are going dim, not conservative. Why in the hell was President Trump elected if the PEOPLE didn't want change. Carry your dumb butt back to MSMBC and leave us alone. Thank you, Mike

Um, actually, no. President Trump was elected on his campaign agenda that he laid out very clearly. There were several key points to that agenda. One of those was to repeal that monstrosity we know as 'Obamacare'. Another was to build a wall along the southern border. Both those items were discussed at length long before the e******n and were well known to the e*****rate long before the polls opened. To say the American people do not support radical change is only half right. To say the American people do not support radical socialist change would be far more accurate. What President Trump represents could be described as radical change, but only in the sense that it is a reversal from radical socialist change and therefore, by necessity, is considered radical by many socialists. witness the Democrat party 'resistance', and know your enemy.

Yes, I think there was compromise.

But, I'll be more concerned about these things when the FY18 budget comes into focus. Even with this 5 month budget, there are monies that can be used to begin the planning phase of said "wall". According to Sean Spicer in Monday's Presser, "Make no mistake, the wall will be built." Or something along those lines.

As for Planned Parenthood, I have faith it will be taken down, eventually. Or at least strictly regulated. Maybe to the point where they can no longer afford to keep their doors open, and that works for me!!!

teabag-let us put this into perspective. Trump is being chastised because the left feels he has not accomplished
much of anything in his first 100 days. Now comes a stop-gap spending bill the contents of which could cause the democrats to shut government down but at the expense of the GOP. Any shut- down would have been headline news and the GOP would have been assigned all of the blame. Remember that this funds government through Sept and a new budget is on the horizon. So, if Trump is successful in getting the Health Care bill through and has a good start on Tax Reform the GOP will be in a much better position to handle the blame of a shut-down. I believe Trump and the GOP lulled the obstructionists into a false sense of security thinking they will get their way next time around. Believe the GOP will stand firm once they have a major bill signed into law. Right now they are treading water partially because they are not accustomed to being in a leadership position. I am not happy that they were not ready for Health Care reform and there is absolutely no excuse on their part. However, it is better to take more time and get the bill right as opposed to getting it done fast . Ryan has a lot
to learn and if he does not change his ways, I hope the membership will replace him . Until then, I am not giving up on the GOP and especially President Trump who is as crazy/dumb as a Fox !!! All opinions/viewpoints will be respected !! America First !!!

Below is today's, May 2nd, Daily Presser. It starts shortly after the 1:12:00. Yes, that's 1 hour and 12 minutes. MSM certainly "hang-out" mulling around a lot.

The Daily Pressers are always quite informative.

What NOBODY seems to understand, is that this is ONLY a 5 month budget. The new FY18 budget begins October 1, 2017. I believe we will begin hearing about negotiations "in earnst" come June. A Fiscal Year budget hasn't been in existence since 2007 (FY07), if I recall correctly. We've been running on "fumes" for 10 years.

The Wall is going to be built, make no mistake, and "bigly"! It's gonna be "yuge"!!!

Questgirl-agree that the wall/fencing ,or wh**ever the Border Patrol prefers, will be built. I salivate at the thought that El Chappo's 14 billion in drug money, which we confiscated, could be used to pay for it. That would indeed be a "fait accompli" on the part of Ted Cruz, the GOP and our country. America First !!!

One of the very few times civil forfeiture was justifiably invoked and used for something beneficial.

I am not familiar with this, although "El Chappo" has a familiar ring but that's about it.

Did this happen under OUR President Trump? Or under Obama? If the latter, I have my doubts it's still anywhere in the coffer(s). He t***sferred it to his new SNAP card before he walked out the door.....
