Democrats rarely speak out against their own leaders. Much less a Democrat president. But from all appearances, Joe Biden is a failed president. His agenda has crashed and burned and the polls show him losing to Donald Trump.

And there have been more than one occasion where Democrats outright opposed one of Biden’s decisions.

Make no mistake. Democrats are distancing themselves from Biden so as not take responsibility themselves from the failed policies they all have backed. There is no separation between Biden and his congressional enablers.

Yes, they are too general, and yes if you don't enumerate enough circumstances for do and don't you leave the door open. And, yes, the word Total is very misleading. Just how specific do these conditions have to be spelled out? And with all variations? Big job!

Seems to me the standards and duties of the President are already spelled out in the Constitution and Bill Of Rights. As are the SCOTUS and the Congressional limits. Anything not spelled out is not in his/their purview. What we need is a federal government that follows the original intent and limits of the Constitution. In other words, it's all already there if the government would only follow it.

After listening to analyst's opinions on the possible decisions of the SCOTUS regarding Presidential Immunity, I decided to take a crack at a scheme that would rein in somewhat the idea of total immunity.

1.Official Acts: Total Immunity

2.Half and Half Acts: Start Official but drift Private
Total Immunity
3.Private Acts: Prosecutable

What acts are to be classified as Official?

1.0 Based upon acting within the scope of the Constitutional Duties of the President.
2.0 Based upon acting within the scope of the duties of Amendment Laws, Civil Laws, and Regulations.
3.0 Based upon acting within the scope of Legislated Laws
and regulations from Congress.
4.0 Based upon acting within the scope of international laws and conventions.
5.0 Based upon acting within accepted humanitarian conventions and laws.
6.0 Based upon acting within the accepted practices for coping with natural disasters
7.0 Based upon acting within the Geneva Conventions for Warfare, Treaties ratified by Congress, and Formal Agreements with foreign nations.
8.0 Based upon acting within accepted high moral principles on which this nation is founded.
9.0 Exclusion of Acts that are Prosecutable

9.1 Assassinations, Murder,
9.2 False accusations and false imprisonments,
9.3 False fines and penalties,
9.4 Treasonous acts against the US.
9.5 Defamation
9.6 Personal enrichment from Official acts.
9.7 Corruption in office.
More?
Sharp lawyers could drive a truck through these attempts, I believe, but can we think of better and more complete language to affect the reining in?

Total immunity does not exist in the current standards. Nor should it. Bad choice of words from Trump... again.

The problem with do and don't standards is everything that is unnamed is fair game to do.

2, 4, 5, and 8 are too general.

10.0 Everything not enumerated in 1-9 is a don't and left up to the congress, the courts, the states and/or the people to determine the severity and consequences.

The solution to corrupt government is not more government. He is correct on many of the issues we face, but, he is wrong on all the solutions he promotes. Progressive socialism/marxism is not the answer. Neither is the crony capitalism we have today.

Just look at todays story on Argentina and the turn around that is developing there following libertarian policies of less government and more fiscally responsible government budgets.

This is exactly why I don't trust the polls showing blacks, the easiest demographic to "bribe", leaving democrats. Biden will pander like never before. actually every four years, like democrats always do and many will fall for the promises of free money.

Democrats are replacing Blacks with illegals. Illegals are taking jobs, housing and even government benefits away from them. Have been since 1974. It just much worse and much more visible under Biden. In addition the Democrat's calling for defunding police and catering to criminals is a danger to the good people in urban communities. It this day of readily available information the word spreads. No where near a majority of blacks will abandon the Democrats, but, even a small 7% to 10% loss of the black vote will hurt the Democrat's elections.

Many will fall for the Democrat pandering but many are also no longer blindly accepting the lies. African Americans want the same thing as anyone else. Economic security and safety in their homes and neighborhoods. Democrat have failed them miserably for decades.

Thank You. I have run for elective office. I was voted onto my local school board in 1981(?) It was a four year term and I served my four years and was done. I know there is always a reason for some people to run for whatever office. In my area school board members could get the same health insurance they provided the teachers. I did not take that option because the office was not a paid office and taking free health insurance to me was payment. I do realize that many ride in on a white horse and soon change that horse for a gray one so as to be better hidden. I dream that political leaders in America could serve for a few years and return to their real jobs and not turn their political jobs into life long ones. I have absolutely no idea how to make that a reality. I did learn while on the school board that the only people who are interested in responsible spending are the few who show up at meetings. Most of the community don't care about costs and most of the board members spend money like water because it helps the community. Lower taxes and fees are what actually will help the common members of the community.

The community will begin to care when it hits their own life style and bank account. Nationally we are a long way from that moment. California and some other blue states are getting close. By the time the community as a whole cares enough to push back it may be too late. The weight of the debt will sink the ship before the majority of the community even notices or cares that the ship is taking on water. But, I still remain hopeful.

Any candidate in any party that qualifies as a legitimate party should be allowed to participate in these shows that are laughingly called debates. At the present time they are just shows to present the gullible American public two men of which one will stand as representative of a very divided country. Can you honestly state that there are two parties? Members of each party are elected to go to Washington but once there they argue on TV or the halls of Congress but later in the day vote virtually in lock-step with each other. The only losers being the American Public.
Any candidate in any party that qualifies as a leg... (show quote)

Between the two parties there is not much difference. Between Trump and Biden there is a huge canyon.

I generally agree with you but see the underlying reason differently. It doesn't matter if there is a uni-party, two parties or 30 or 100. They are all made up by individuals acting independently in their own self interests. Politicians self interests align with big government so they all build a big government. Politicians self interests also include trying to manipulate the people to believe the peoples self interests align with the politicians self interests.

Same is true of the people. They work for their own individual self interests. If their self interests involve benefiting from big government they will vote for big government. (federalists) If their self interest is determined by their own self determination they will vote for limited government. (anti-federalists)

What the government and politicians are allowed to do is determined by what the people allow them to do. (Public opinion) If the people get tired of the government overreach and determine that their best interest is less government then the political parties will adjust to public opinion. That push back was lost through most of the 20th century due to the depression, WWII, the cold war and then the 60's and 70's. Limiting government made a come back with the election of Reagan and a flip in congress in Clinton's 2nd term. Got lost under Bush 2 (9/11 and the housing crash). But was revitalized after Obama's shellacking in 2012 and continued under Trump. Biden's election was an anomaly due to the pandemic and the massive false negative press thrown at Trump for 5 years.

The conflict between the Federalist and Anti-Federalists has existed from the beginning and is reflected in the compromise known as the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Professional politicians have been chipping away at that compromise ever since. It's in the professional politicians own best interest to do so. It's up to the people to change that. If they want to. We will see in November if public opinion is still trending back toward the anti-federalists and away from the federalists. Reversing trends takes time and always encounters push back.

Biden limited the moderators to CNN, ABC and CBS. He probably hoped Trump would walk away because of the unfriendly moderator options. I imagine they were surprised when he so quickly accepted without some negotiations first. Trump will take what's offered without fear and deal with it. Hopefully Trump will keep his cool, attack Biden lies and allow Biden to hang himself. Biden on the other hand will bait Trump and try to get him to start ranting. All he has is hate Trump for his campaign.

Should be an interesting debate and game of chess. Probably will be Biden's last legitimate chance to save his candidacy. Sink or swim.

Not that Biden or Trump want him in the debate but, as of now, he hasn't even gotten close to the necessary qualifications to be in a debate. That being 15% or higher in four polls and registration in enough states to garner at least 170 electoral votes. So far I think he has 1 poll and 2 states. Since he is not even contention to win in November I would rather see just the two nominees debate.

Biden will initiate another “ plandemic”, declare martial law; therefore no election! I put NOTHING past him, Obama & all the phonies in his admin.

I currently think that the ticket will remain the same and an election will be held. A legitimate election is a different story.

One possibility is still that the Democrats may put in a substitute for Biden in August. It would explain why the DNC is fighting states that plan to set the ballots before the late Democrat convention. Keep their options open.

I don't think declaring martial law to cancel the election would work. There are still too many people and states that would push back. It might lead to a civil war as people resist the take over.

The elimination of Trump might be more likely, not that I'm predicting it, as the RNC could then substitute a candidate that would align more with the professional politicians goals rather than what the voters want.

I suppose the other possibility would be to eliminate Trump late in the election cycle where it would be too late to print new ballots. The election could be postponed indefinitely by the Democrats.

Unfortunately you might be right, especially if Trump is found NOT guilty from this sham trial!

I put the odds of Trump being found not guilty at less than 1%. The jurors are likely afraid and run to high a risk of being scorned or worse from their friends, family or neighbors if they find Trump not guilty. It is my opinion that even a hung jury is unlikely, maybe 20%, in Manhattan. Though a hung jury would be the best outcome for all parties involved in this travesty.

The media, politicians, bureaucrats and all those who benefit off the behemoth corrupt federal government see Trump and all those that might follow or be like him as a huge threat to their power and ill gotten gains. They cannot risk their subterfuge being exposed so Trump must be destroyed and any future Trumps must be stopped before they can start.
