I've seen My father, who was in both the Army and Air Force be denied his Pension from the Military and as a Civilian. He Retired from both. In the 70s, he hurt his back 5major Surgeries, 6disc REMOVED, yet he was denied, the Surgeon told him it was from being exposed to Agent Orange and that he would eventually become Paralysed. Because of his exposure as well millions of other Military Men and Women to Agent Orange, their offspring are also exposed to the side effects of it. Now my dad wasn't one to sit back and complain and do nothing, he got up everyday and went to work, he would be in so much pain but refused to be a statistic. In today's world of Numbers, by the time they (government) take out your Medicare payment, God forbid if you have to get a supplemental plan too, Your mthly payment is now a mere $4-500. Then you got Drs Appointment, Prescriptions, RENT, LIGHTS,GAS, FOOD, HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS, MONEY FOR CABS OR OTHER TRANSPORTATION. YES,THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME MAJOR CHANGES.
AS A Woman, I prided myself in being a actual workaholic. Started working at 14 until 5yrs ago. After a accident at work which has left me partially paralysed, I to have now become a Statistic. I worked 3-4 jobs at a time to be free from Government Programs, but during the times that I needed help it would take forever to recieve the benefits. Even though I have benefited from the Snap Program which kept my kids from being hungry, they also recieved Medicaid, which I paid half of, has had its own Merits. Many people are Blessed by these Programs, am I Satisfied with them?.No!!
I used to laugh when I heard people say that "Their mom or dad only recieved $15.00 in Snap BENEFITS!! Really!! People who are Elderly,Disabled and homeless Recieve what's deemed necessary by the government's guidelines why?? Is our Nutrition not as IMPORTANT as that of a 15,20,or 30 yr old?? What can you get for $15.00 that will last to eat until you get them the next month, not to mention because you done paid your monthly bills there's no money left for food. So. What exactly is the benfits of the Snap Program if it's not helping those that truely and honestly need it?? The reason the poverty level is so high is because of the Work wage issue. It shouldn't matter if you got a B.s. Degree or 30yrs of experience, people should be paid for their work. If your a ditch digger or a RN your pay should Reflect your Work .. If your earning $7.25 hr, and you have a family your living way below the poverty level. Of you Recieve SSI OR SSDI, AND YOUR mthly Check is $5-900.00 mthly, your living below the NATIONAL, STATE,& LOCAL GUIDELINES ON THE POVERTY LEVEL. AND YET THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO MAKE IT A VOUCHER PROGRAM, THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO FIX THESE PROGRAMS. EACH STATE NEEDS TO HIGHER ENOUGH PEOPLE TO GO THROUGH Each States Programs and services to track down those Recieving BENEFITS who are not yet entitled or do not qualify for them. Then and only when they get this done should they rework the guidelines to Recieve benefits. This has been thrown around so much that the people who work for these Offices actually have figured out ways to keep the elderly and Disabled from Recieving the Benfits we so desperately need.

I'm a Medicare Recipient who also has Humana Advantage, these last 5yrs if it weren't for these INSURANCE companies I wouldn't know how, what, or better yet be seen by the Specialist I've needed to see. I love my OBAMACARE plan, but since Traitor Trump is forceing These INSURANCE companies to force higher premiums on those of us who have benefited from this program, the majority if us will stop having this extra care. Is it fair?, Hell no, there has been more healthcare INSURANCE for people living below the poverty line than ever before. Its like this, let's say you get sick, can't work ever again. You file for ss, it takes 2/4 yrs to even get it,if your lucky and you do,you get Medicare, but if you need specialist care you got a get a supplemental plan. Now just Medicare alone cost $100.0 to120.0 mthly. Then you got a supplemental plan which is another$100.0+. That's automatically $200.0 off the top of a mere $8or900.00 As check. Then you go to dr, you pay $15-50.00 a pop, then Prescription coverage, at $100.-200.00 mthly!! So is it beneficial, to me it's my lifeline, and to many others as well. We loose our homes,cars, jobs, finances, family!! Is it fair to us that the majority of our Ss checks are spent on our healthcare? That's what most Seniors and Disabled people go thru everyday, we have to choose between paying our Utility bills or medicine, food or Paying for waterbill, going to dr or Paying a Dr Bill?
