[quote=Sicilianthing]>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

He [Rush Limbaugh] noted that polls will likely come out that will show if Trump was damaged by his words, but the Republicans don't want to be seen as mean people.

"The conventional wisdom is...everybody is outraged the fact that he doesn't have a lot of public humility, that he's a mean guy," said Limbaugh. Meanwhile, McCain has "called tea party people hobbits, crazies."

And, he pointed out that Trump was not the first to question McCain's war service, but when attacks come from the left, "they're warranted because they're nice people, compassionate people."

Unlike others, "Trump is not following the rule that targets are supposed to follow," said Limbaugh. "Targets are supposed to immediately grovel, apologize, say 'I have the utmost respect for Sen. McCain' and everybody cheers because the the target has seen the light. [That] usually means another Republican has been taken out."

"There is an arrogant presumption that the majority of the American people are as outraged as the media," he concluded.

Trump: 'I Will Say What I Want to Say'

I want to say this.....I am not a person to sugar coat anything to anybody, it's an Achilles Heel of mine, but so what? I am retired military and a Disabled Vet, and yes, just hearing the Donald's remarks at first from a quickie headline did make steam come out of my ears. Look, I made be rough on the edges, but let me read AND view all this in context. I firmly believe Donald Trump put it in his wry and dry sense of humor. As a registered Republican (want to see my card, I have one) he is still my first choice. Sorry to all the others with an (R) behind their name, but this country to put as one hero of mine, General George Scott Patton, needs a "swift kick in the pants." For two election cycles, I was astounded that the majority of voters acted like the animated Minions and voted for our closet Muslim, Chief Executive Occupant who only wants to fulfill his and the Mrs.'s agendas and nothing else. At least he couldn't pull a fast one like Adolph Hitler did and come up with some stupid exemption clause that our Constitution does not have and our checks and balances so far has precluded that idea.

As a result, we have a huge, bloated, inefficient, and self serving executive level bureaucracy that stomps on the very people to whom they are accountable, the citizensof the United States of America.

Let's encourage other to get a bit of thicker skin. Trump would be far better than the career politicians.

SOTU 2014. His Effing Majesty, Barrack Husein Obama I, made his fifth speech trying to rally the citizens and successfully started making himself a cult of personality. So, he wants to sidestep Congress and rule the nation by his pen? Really? Rep. Stockman had better quit talking and files those damned Articles of Impeachment.

No, I am not happy with the government as it stands now; and I am not the only one. According to a Jan. 5-8 Gallup poll, the government, at 21%, leads the list of what Americans consider the most important problem facing the country. All other issues stem from the government, in my opinion.

Something has GOT to give; I'll be damned if I am going to goose step, and obey a damned supreme leader.

The NEA and the KNEA never offered to help me get my job back when I was thrown out because the Superintendent accused me of trying to tell him how to do his job. Of course, I had quit both of them in 1976 because of their hanky panky with Carter which resulted in the creation of the Department of Education. I demanded my money that was given to him to campaign with and guess there weren't many members who did that. I quit them immediately after I got my $4.65 as my share of the illegal money they gave him. I was a very principled teacher and many of my colleagues didn't like me for that.

Sadly, it is the principled and the professional in any endeavor that get the raw deals. Seemingly, a lot of people can't handle the truth.

Votenoobama,

In person, I am very non PC, too. It is the main reason I didn't get promoted to E7 in the Navy. In fact, I come off as a scary old asshole because I am so blunt and frank.

I agree with you 100% and thanks.

Alex,

See, that is how business votes; they keep going where the revenue will come in. Customers=revenue. Customers vote with their feet and their wallets.

I am USN (Ret), am originally from Louisiana, but farther south, where there are bilingual (French) people; I was one of those, too. Yes, calling the Robertsons "Country" is indeed a compliment. "Duck Dynasty" is a rare show on TV these days that entire family can watch.

Since you are new here I must explain to you that I was a high school history and government teacher for 28 years. I was never forced by anybody from Washington, DC to teach anything and I never allowed anyone else other than school board people to tell me what and how I was to teach. It was 27 years ago that I was thrown out of my job for telling the Superintendent how to do his job, he said. I was really happy it happened because it was very soon after that that various silly rules started coming into being. An example would be that I had been a very successful girls track and field coach for over 17 years. In that time I never worried about touching my athletes like had to be done very soon after I got out. I often walked on the track with one of them with my arm around her shoulders talking about her event/s. Never did one of them take affront but today any of them is likely to sue a man for something like that.

In the classroom I didn't worry about touching a kid when he/she asked me a question and I went to answer. Can't do that anymore, either.

There has been a wild change in how and what is taught and if anyone knows it, I am sure one who knows. Common Core is just a part of federal government take over of education for the very reasons you said.

oldroy,

Thanks for your contribution as a teacher, and lucky you, you got to be an actual teacher. Also, thank you for your encouragement you bestowed to me.

I graduated high school in 1977 from a rural school. So yes, I joking admitted to my classmates while earning my recently conferred Bachelor's degree, my word processor then was a manual Royal typewriter, a dictionary, a thesaurus, a Harcourt-Brace writing handbook (6th or 7th edition), lots of correction tape and my brain. Research was put on 3X5 index cards. I actually knew how to use a slide rule and learned it before I was allowed to use my scientific calculator. I went through reams of scratch paper for any given math class, and even for my Calculus I class when I was working on my Associate's degree. I find myself still doing that in my line of work; it scares the younger folks when they see that .

I admit I was ranting. Having read an article from the Heritage Foundation where a school district in GA, I think, state that the teachers there are to teach the Common Core curricula verbatim. One the other hand, there are far more school districts that, having to swallow the bitter Common Core curriculum, are allowing teachers teach, so long as the standards are met.

From my previous research for my composition class recently, Common Core will result largely in lowering skills by two grade levels, since each student will have to discuss how he or she reached their conclusions to get the correct answers. It will not be enough to say "because it is the way it is and always has been." Wow, that would drive me crazy :!:

Again, thank you for the kudos and agreeing with the main point I was making.

Thanks Big Mike. Antecdotically, my wife was on the phone with one of our Senators, namely Mark Udall (D-CO), as he was in his Washington Office. She was ranting about the push for Federal Gun Control laws (she and I are both anti gun control, BTW) and also on the subject of immigration. Somehow she asked the question, directly to him, "Isn't Atheism a religion?" He hemmed and hawed and replied back with the standard canned political response, "I'll have to look into that."

So Big Mike, you are 100% on target  when you say that most people have not figured out that it is indeed, a religion. :!: 8-)

You certainly put a lot of good information in your post. However may I ask a question? Answer only if you choose to. In Islam homosexuality is a sin that is punishable by death. With more and more Muslims migrating to the U.S., how long will it be before they take over the democratic party? If/when this happens where will the homosexuals turn after they are expelled from the democratic party by the Muslims? Surely Muslims will not tolerate homosexuals in the democratic party will they?

As a matter of fact, homosexuality is considered a capital offense not only in the Qu'ran and in Islam under Sharia law, but in the Old Testament, common in the Torah, the Book of Leviticus outlined what is referred to as Mosaic Law, that homosexuality is a sin and calls for death as the punishment.

Here is the sticking point I think that got under GLAAD's skin. As I said, Phil Robertson told the truth and I myself can cite three references from the Bible, two of those are common in the Torah, and even two in the Qu'ran......
Homosexuals are indeed lumped into the same class as alcoholics, whoremongers, drug addicts, lepers and prostitutes. So, being the so P.C. social conservative curmudgeon that I am, "Repast and nourish yourself on feces!" ;-)

I had this conversation with my coworker this morning, before the boss came in; it is our usual routine. We agree that the Liberal Nazi Democrats have done this for so long, and the sheep followed along blindly that they couldn't see the eventual ruin that is happening. I for one am a black sheep and I'll be damned that America falls asunder because of the urban dwelling, snobby and snotty nosed progressives and liberals want their cultish and elitist society. If you look really, really hard and think as you observe, it is the funniest sight to see the liberals conduct their dogfights before they come up with the next stupid ideal they'll cram down our regular people throats.

Cold Iron: join me and "To Arms" :!:  It's coming, my friend.
