Doesn't matter. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemy closer.

Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. ~ James Madison

Instead of whining about someone trying to restrict your gun rights, which you currently have. Go forward and fight for a less restricted press (six corporations own most of the media you read or watch). Stop sending our limited "volunteer army" to do what a popular force should be called upon to do (if necessary).

No. I'll just arm myself and keep an eye on my neighbor.

If he is 18 and mature, then SURE. Otherwise, leave it to the TEACHERS. But I guess if YOUR child's school isn't protected by someone with a gun to stop an attacker, then you would be the first one HAPPY if something happens to your son.

It was my grandchild, not my son. I wouldn't trust most teachers with a bowie knife, let alone a firearm. When I was in school, teachers were easy prey. Of course, I didn't like school and would do just about anything to disrupt a class room. Took my licks, but it didn't change my attitude or behavior.

Ya'll have to stop slapping each other like Laurel and Hardy. We have a real problem that needs to be addressed.

In the name of the Father, Son AND Holy John Lott Jr. I will give my grandson a handgun and send him off to school.

Finally there is someone to give us divine guidance on our future.

Shoot or be shot.

I think you are missing the use of the government to achieve what you decry, and the public's ignorance of that fact by electing the very people who do the bidding of special interests (which includes the wealthy but also includes other special interests.)

Well I guess we agree. Public ignorance of the power of special interests . . . The player with the most money wins.

I take it you either didn't read the article, or if you read it you didn't understand it. Try again, with this thought in mind - those who would run this country would use the government as the instrument to run it, and the bigger the government is, the wider and deeper the government controls people, the more those folks run.

No you try again, with this thought in mind - "those who would run this country would use the government as the instrument to run it, and the bigger the government is, the wider and deeper the government controls people, the more those folks run".

What is that you think I'm missing?

The bigger the government, the bigger the opportunity for cronyism. Yet you have so many people worried about the tea party. Go figure

Corporations run this country . . . That's how the rich insolate themselves from the spotlight and public scrutiny. They learned at the turn of the last century not to allow the public to get them (individually) in the crosshairs.

Nope,,,, they don't.... Interesting enough,,, even my Cheyenne forefathers were brought down by "winter campains" when you are thrust out in the west Kansas/eastern Colorado winter with only a loin cloth,,, you lost your pots pans and everything you need to make a fire,,, it is over pretty darned quick,,,logistics,,, ask Napolean, Hilter, and Santa Ana....

I'm no prepper. But I realize that if the crap hits the fan and I hope it never does. We'll have a short time to get ourselves in order while the major panic in the cities absorbs everyone's attention. After that, who knows what will happen. Will things be pulled back together by a well planned emergency response, to make sure commerce continues? or will there be a general breakdown that will leave us trying to rebuild trust within our communities, and survive?

I am thinking of joining the national guard to help pay for tuition, I heard the pay is good as well. it would only require doing drills on the weekends and it could open many opportunities for education. I might even a consider a career in the military, my buddy and I are considering doing the buddy system, it seems like a good idea, and we both want the opportunity to serve our country.
we are both eligible for service physically and mentally.
thoughts?

You want an opportunity to serve your country. You're satisfied with the pay. Your friend would like to do the same . . . There are opportunities . . Go for it.

I will be behind the libs right after they create reasonable training for dope usage and abortion training,,, til then they are full of sh-t cause abortions kill more than guns every single year

Statistics . . . what a hoot.

Most of the gun deaths in the black population are tallied as homicide. In the white . . . suicide.

Abortions are most frequent among non-Hispanic black women and lowest among whites . . .

As far as dope is concerned . . Dope is for dopes, unless you can win a sporting competition and have the general public falling all over themselves to buy the latest endorsed product.

As for founding fathers, constitution et al, and a well regulated militia . . . The whiskey rebellion, here in western Pennsylvania, and George Washington's response to it provides a glimpse at what was intended.

I think it is awfully early to predict much of anything right now. There are tons of things that can happen that could change the way people think.

That is dead on target. Who ever is presented, for you to vote for, will be steam cleaned and given nice coat of polish. They will also receive a nice dose sweet smelling perfume. It is a lot like buying a used car.

Nothing goes wrong during the test drive - or if you discover something - there will be a promise to fix it or make it right.

Then you drive it home. OR I should say they DRIVE it home.

The government is incompetent. Yet they are engaged in a grand strategy of stealing your money. Of course if you are like me you don't have enough money to matter.

They tell you; can't raise enough money by taxing the rich to make a difference . . .

In the next breath they tell you of billions sitting in offshore accounts . . . if only we were fair and let them bring their hard earned money home. . . .

If only you would agree to work for less money and not ask for any golden lined perks like; health care or a meager pension . . .

Screw it . . . let's nuke someone and start a war - then watch the money flow.
