Trump's tax cut at the high point of an economic expansion at a time of full employment was insane and Republicans having neither courage nor principles went along with it. As long as Trump is President we are doomed.

I may have missed it, but I asked if anyone could point to some comment or section of the Fourth National Climate Assessment which they believe wrong. If a specific point is disputed then we can discuss that point. Most of the comments I'm reading talk about greedy corrupt money grabbing scientists and politicians, but no reference to the Fourth National Climate Assessment. Truly if you haven't looked at the Fourth National Climate Assessment discussion is pointless.

I wish there was some machine to take people who think it was better 70 years ago back to those days. It would probably gather dust from lack of use.

The report that the White House released is called the "Fourth National Climate Assessment". You can Google that name and have immediate access to the report. I"m not going to use my time to rebut statements made on this site that it was colder earlier or warmer later than something or another, but if you can refer to a specific statement or section of the Assessment which you believe is wrong I'll gladly also read it and either agree or disagree with you findings.

Do yourself a favor and Google "Fourth National Climate Assessment" and read the report . I think if you read it with an open mind you will become a committed advocate of dedicating government and individual resources to trying to do something to stop global warming. You will also become disgusted with the lies coming from Trump and his oil friends and wonder how they can be such dedicated liars. The extreme rich will be able to build special shelters above sea levels, but if your children or grandchildren are average citizens their lives are going to be very difficult.

The report released Friday by the White House is called the Fourth Assessment. You might want to read it. Trump may think global warming is a joke, but there are a lot of serious people who are trying to give their children and grandchildren a planet they can live on.

I believe one of the most blatant proofs of Trump's and the Republicans' dishonesty is the Trump tax cut and the spending bill for a trillion dollars. After years of claiming the evil of deficits they passed bills that will add a trillion dollar deficit or more each year into the furure. When are you right wing people going to wake up?

Total garbage. I wasn't going to spend an hour viewing the lecture which was given in 1968 by a man who viewed the civil rights movement as part of a communist plot. Before you invest a minute of your life in his video Google him, you will find he is considered an unreliable conspiratorial crank.

There is unfortunately a custom on this site to supply links to articles that don't prove the point that the link is given as evidence for. Don't be convinced by the title to an article as being proof of anything. It is not uncommon for an article to be cited that proves the opposite of what it is being cited for. The report which was released is more substantial than anything Trump can produce. Trump and his oil allies are going to destroy civilization. No question about it.

I am sure that anyone who studies the Fourth Assessment Report and balances it against the Trump tweet that this cold Thanksgiving rebuts the proposition of global warming will scream in exasperation at the Trump nonsense. The future of our planet, of our children and grandchildren and of the human race is being negatively influenced by the brain of a newt. We all have to do what we can to educate and rebut the fake science that right wing wack jobs produce whenever the subject of global warming is raised. It won't be easy, but it has to be done.

I don"t think the person posting the article from new scientist above has read the article. Increases in CO2 can lag behind ice ages and the article explains why and also explains it is not relevant to today's global warming.

If it wasn't for an extraordinary natural diaster event, Fukushima may never have happened. I'm not sure how it advances the discussion of global warming, unless the point is that nuclear power will not save us. Again not thing about Fukushima has been silenced. Google the word 'Fukushima'.

Perhaps a person of good will might encourage government support for research in improving solar panel efficiencies. Los Alamos gets billions for nuclear research each year. I can't say all of the Los Alamos research is necessary, but a think some of that financial support can be moved to research in stopping global warming. Is it also necessary to do away with the tax benefits of using solar?Trump and his people are doing everything in their power to cripple solar energy production which I believe is vile and perverse.

Withdrawing from the Paris accords based on the proposition that global warming is a hoax seems juvenile to me. What does liberalism have to do with the issue? It seems more a scientific than a political or philosophical issue.

I believe former warming periods occurred over millions or at least hundreds of years. Our global warming has occurred in the last 150 years.
