Likely House Speaker Praises Benghazi Committee For Hurting Hillary Clinton Politically

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), the man likely to become the next speaker of the House, applauded the Select Committee on Benghazi for damaging the poll numbers of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

McCarthy said Tuesday that Clinton would have remained "unbeatable," had it not been for the committee.

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee, what are her numbers today?" McCarthy told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "Her numbers are dropping, why? Because she's untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened."

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the ranking member on the committee, said McCarthy's comments were just further evidence that the Benghazi Committee was a waste of taxpayer money.

“This stunning concession from Rep. McCarthy reveals the truth that Republicans never dared admit in public: the core Republican goal in establishing the Benghazi Committee was always to damage Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and never to conduct an even-handed search for the facts," Cummings said in a statement. "It is shameful that Republicans have used this tragedy and the deaths of our fellow Americans for political gain. Republicans have blatantly abused their authority in Congress by spending more than $4.5 million in taxpayer funds to pay for a political campaign against Hillary Clinton.”

A spokesman for the Benghazi Committee did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a different interview with CNN, McCarthy touted that the committee's work had exposed Clinton's use of a private email address while she was secretary of state, an issue that has dogged Clinton on the campaign trail.

"They don't trust her because of what they found out about the server and everything else. Would you have ever found that out had you not gathered the information from the Benghazi Select Committee," he said.

But Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), a member of the Benghazi Committee, noted earlier this month in a New York Times op-ed that none of the emails the committee has seen have revealed "anything of consequence" about Clinton's role in Benghazi.

"The Select Committee became little more than a partisan tool to influence the presidential race, a dangerous precedent that will haunt Congress for decades," Schiff wrote. "The committee is solely concerned with damaging [Clinton's] candidacy, searching for something, anything, that can be insinuated against her."

Critics say the committee, charged with understanding all of the "policies, decisions and activities" related to the 2012 attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, is just a way to attack Clinton politically. Even though other committees have cleared the Obama administration of wrongdoing in the attacks, the Benghazi Committee will not release its final report until 2016.

It wasn't a bomb, it was a digital clock. When the kid brought the clock to show his engineering teacher, another teacher saw it, and with wires and circuit boards in a box, brought by a Muslim kid - he jumped to the conclusion that the kid had a bomb.

The thing is, had it been a white kid who had done that, the teachers response would have been, "wathca got there?", not called the police about a bomb. The police, in their usual highly efficient manner, chose to use the old "swat team first, question later" routine and arrest the kid right in front of everybody.

To add icing to the cake, instead of apologizing for their errors, they suspended the kid for 3 days, charged him with making a fake bomb - and are really hoping this blows over quickly.

D'Souza is a miserable prick who prays on the ignorance of his sheeplike followers. He preaches a failed ideology to dolts, and is arrogant enough to profess to know more about the teachings of the Catholic Church and Christ than the Pope. While millions of joyous Americans greated the Pope as a man of peace love and wisdom, a hand full of sorry right wing nutters will be parted from their cash to listen to this malcontent run down our great nation while his mail order bride to be defiles a great patriotic song at this pathetic event.

I am a Catholic Christian and I agree with D' Sousa's analysis on the Pope's message. Overall, the Pope has exemplified caring and loving the people of God, most especially the weak and vulnerable.

But I think the Pope has fallen short of understanding about science and technology that enhances overall lives of mankind including the poor and the weakest. We must be thankful to God, the wisdom and knowledge God has provided science in order to develop and to alleviate the difficulties of human lives.

The most pressing problems facing us today are the growing threats of liberalism, socialism, and the Muslim ideologies that harass, and eradicate all Christians, and their ancient history to extinctions in order to control that the world belongs to the Islam faith alone.

The Pope must have articulated clearly to the US administration put enormous responsibilities in defending the rights of those who are weak especially the Christians killed to extinction in the Middle East.

The Pope while discussing climate change must have articulated a balance approach to control climate change. He must have addressed and recognized that climate change control must balance technology and science to use in order to develop resources and ways to meet the needs of man and nature.

That science and technology must work together in order to advance modern ways of lives to provide jobs and resources for all men. The jobs that these science and technology provide help mostly the vulnerable for providing jobs, and improve processes, for modern medical care, and overall enhancing our lifestyle instead of retaining the stone age.

The Pope failed to mention that the immigration issue has also very damaging effects to the Christian world most especially welcoming the Muslim refugees, whose goals and objectives are not to contribute and embrace this country but to destroy and possess as their own. It has been proven time and time again, that their ideology conflicts with the civilized world. They don’t contribute or change, but destroy those who are different from them. It is the order of their Koran.

The Pope failed to mention that the Middle East and Arab countries must share the responsibilities of taking care of the Muslims refugees like the rich Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Iran and Egypt. But none of these countries are helping their own people, but rather drove them to the compassionate Christian countries to spread their Islam ideologies.

The Pope failed to articulate that the US has also laws, to protect, to secure peace, and overall national security for our people. That while we embrace compassion, we must also protect the safety of our own people. He failed to mention that all illegal immigrants become the dependents of the hard working American people. He failed to appreciate the hard working American people who provide for them.

This Popes a hypocrite of the highest magnitude. Talks about capitalism as evil but comes from the most crony capitalist society in South America. Talks about how the US should do more for the poor while he lives in the Vatican which if it was a country would be one of the richest in the world. Talks about immigration like we should do more. We have over a million legal immigrants a year. That's more than the rest of the world combined. He's turned into a politician. Climate change is just a code word for taking money from rich wealthy countries and distributing it to poor countries. If the Pope is seen as helping in that regard he might get more converts. The gun thing really ticks me off. If you want to Pope ask all the Catholics to turn in their guns if they want. Leave the rest of us alone.
