PREFACE: I AM NOT A CONSTITUIONAL SCHOLAR.

Overview; While some State Offices are filled by majority vote, the federal government only has one office filled by State popular (majority) vote and that is State Senators to the Congress of the United States. One should understand that the States have their own governments and also have Representation in the Federal Government depending on the population of the State. Each State will have two Senators and at least one Representative per the Constitution. Currently, the law requires 1 Federal Representative for every 720,000 people.
I dislike democracies because they are ruled by the majority. In reality, the left loves the idea of a democracy and that is what they have been pushing for, for generations. They are great supporters of the communist manifesto and of majority rule. History, provides that all democracies eventually become Socialist and then Communist/Dictator. America, by Constitutional design, is a Republic (Article IV section 4) and that is one of the reasons the Electoral College came to be. Popular vote of the people (majority rule ) applies only to the precinct, district, or parish which a voter inhabits. Arizona, for instance, has 9 Representatives each of them voted into Federal Representation by the majority vote in a Congressional District. Why can't people understand the difference between a democracy and a Republic?
Come on people, if you wish to editorialize or debate the Constitution, please, at least read it yourself.

I'll get off my soapbox now

Article IV Section 4. of the United States Constitution; "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence."

What I attempt to address is that The United States of America is NOT suppose to be a democracy, it is a REPUBLIC with a Republican form of Government. To guarantee that the United States DID NOT become a democracy, Article IV Section 4 was included in the Constitution.

It is interesting that some people believe the President is elected by popular vote. This is not the case, nor should it be. My understanding of what the founders were trying to avoid was the creation of a socialist government where the majority ruled over the minority. The President by Article II and the XII Amendment, is elected by the Electoral College. The original idea was State representation. Article I describes the election of Representatives and the States appointment of Senators. Article II describes the election of the President and Article III outlines the method by which the Judicial positions will be filled. The President was suppose to be elected by designated Electors, who were chosen by the State Legislatures. As far as keeping the power in the States, the founders ratified an excellent method to do so. However, when Wilson came into office the XVII Amendment put the election of Senators in the hands of the People, thereby taking the representation of States Legislatures away and giving it to the people. So the majority now ruled the House of Representatives and the Senate. The sovereignty of the States was lost with the loss of Senate representation.

I'll get off my soapbox now!

So an obamabot has replied, as usual complaining about the loss of freebies, which in reality are funded by the taxpayers.

Little Ball of hate.

I stand corrected. I was mainly referring to the elite. You are right in the sense that millions upon millions of progressive educated people are taught that socialism is the way to go. Then of course we have the other millions upon millions of immigrants who come here knowing only the life of socialism.

Some may say that liberal are blind to reality. I say they support the destruction of America and are fully awake.

I agree with much of what slatten49 says about trump. Trump is a liar, a cheat, a conman, an imposter, and for all intent and purpose would make an excellent "used car salesman" but a piss-poor president. There is no doubt that his desire is to become the "absolute" leader of this nation. But, there is no evidence at this point which would indicate he has murdered anyone.
However, when slatten49 puts any credence on anything hillary says or does he has lost most of his credibility. Hillary is a murderer and most likely billy boy is too. But strangely those who attempt to investigate wind up dead before they complete their investigations. In short, I would place trump in the socialist-want-a-be dictator category and hillary in the murderer who should be put to death category.

Will Our next President Honor and Protect Our Constitution?

Real answer NO! Both are Progressives and neither knows very much about the Constitution. In fact, very few Americans know anything about the Constitution, hence a piss poor selection of two Communist Manifesto supporting candidates.

No way in hell would I help the guy! He sounds like the type who would sue if you entered his property with a gun. He has made his bed, let him lie in it. I would give the police the best description of the perpetrator I could and that's it. Remember you have no authority to be on his property. And if you haven't been sued, I can assure you it wouldn't be fun. And lets not forget that the victim of your shooting or his family will sue you also. If you enjoy going to Court, protect the guy.

I get the impression that, to some, Trump is God! Kind of reminds me of the millions upon millions who believed and still believe that obama could heal the world. Rhetorical question, How's that working out? It's concerning that many recite; "trump will do this and trump will do that" without anything to support such comments, other than trumps word, which reputation suggests is lacking in merit.

I honor all those who have fought for America. I do not wish to take any of that from those who faced their, "government identified", enemy. However, I do take exception to the control of the battles from a distant procrastinating leadership which did not understand or simply refused to initiate, the 'Rules of Engagement" nor, did they care about the body count associated with their political decisions not to allow our military to ACTUALLY FIGHT the war. I condemn the Government which sent 59,000 of our young to die in a war which ultimately produced nothing. I do not accept their deaths as a fair trade. I maintain that many wars are fought for the benefit of Big Business, which in turn funds Big Government and few are actually fought because of a true "Enemy at our Gate". More than likely a "wag the dog" scam is presented and we fall into the program. As Reagans believed in a strong military, I promote a strong military also, but I also believe that we should not waste the lives of a most valuable resource by sending our young into a war which we have no business in. Some of our first coins had "Mind your Business", imprinted on them. I believe it is time to return to that motto.
