According to 2023 statistics, there are 2.96 million federal employees in the U.S. federal government making an average salary of ~$90,000 per year, 50% higher than the private sector.

I propose that everyone in the federal government take a 27% across-the-board pay cut. This would still make their average salary 10% higher than the private sector and would save taxpayers at least $72 billion dollars a year.

I say its time that federal government employees start “paying their fair share” and start by taking a pay cut that puts them closer in line to the rest of us.
